Sqwincher Lite review and some packets for you

by MCM Mama on April 24, 2012

I recently was given the opportunity to review Sqwincher Lite’s Qwik Stick Version.  I’d never heard of it before, but I have a really hard time drinking plain water, so I figured I’d give it a try. I was sent 50 packets of the lemonade flavor.

Each packet makes one 20oz drink.  I found that when I mixed it as planned, it was way too strong, but when I doubled the amount of water it tasted much better.  (I do this with nearly every “mix” I use.  Apparently I don’t like plain water OR overflavored water LOL).

Each Swincher packet has 55 mg of Sodium and 45 mg of Potassium and 100% of the average person’s vitamin C.  This is a bit less sodium than in the Gatorade Powder Sticks and a lot less sodium than the nuun tablets.  For day to day use, this is a good thing for me, but I’m pretty sure I needed the extra sodium when I ran this past weekend.

My one real issue with this product is that it uses sucralose.   While I do occasionally have a diet soda, I tend to avoid fake sweeteners.  In fact, a lot of times I avoid sweeteners at all.  (I’ve weaned myself off of sugar in my coffee, maple syrup in my oatmeal, and sugar in my iced tea.)  But, given a choice, I’d choose sugar over sucralose any day.  I can always run off the calories.

Want to try some?  I have 40+ packets left and I got permission from the sponsors to let my readers try them.  If you’d like me to send you a couple, leave me a comment and then send me an email to mom2shoo at gmail.com.  The number you receive will depend on how many people want to try them.

Want to buy them?  You can buy them in bulk at Magid Glove.

In other news, I’m recovering.  I ran three miles on the treadmill yesterday.  They were slow, they were kind of painful, but I got them done and felt better afterwards.  Today, I’ve got a session of hot yoga at Mind the Mat.  Chances are good that tomorrow my legs will feel good, but I won’t be able to lift my arms LOL.

Disclaimer:  I got the product free to try.  All opinions are my own.

I’d love to try them. I get tired of drinking plain water all the time. :)

I would be interested in trying them, even though, like you, I don’t like overly flavored drinks!

I would like to try a package of Squincher. My daughter – who is a type 1 diabetic – loves Powerade Zero. Keeps her hydrated without the carbs. Traveling with Powerade Zero is difficult because they do not make it in powder form. We are looking for something she likes, and is easy to travel with. MAYBE this might be part of the solution. Thanks!
