Mother Nature is being temporarily kind to us. The weather here is amazing. Moderate temps, low humidity, nice breeze. It’s really gonna hurt when Virginia goes back to being Virginia.
I ran “naked” today. No Garmin and I purposely didn’t run a route I knew the mileage on. 40 minutes of easy running on a beautiful day = pure awesomeness.
Seen on today’s run:
- A drunk being cuffed and stuffed – at 9am
- A woman who could have used a few more yards of cloth in her outfit – seriously, I don’t need to see that much skin
- A bunny rabbit
- A woman with heavy thighs in booty shorts (all I could think was “I hope you have a lot of body glide on those.”
- The Saturday morning yoga moms
- A near accident when someone changed lanes without looking
Smelled on today’s run:
- The drunk
- Pollo a la brasa
- Dumpsters
- Pizza
- Donuts (read in your best Homer Simpson voice)
Even when I’m not running hills, there are a lot of hills in my neighborhood.
There are also a lot of dogs.
Dogs who run up to their fence and bark at me startle the crap out of me.
It’s the perfect day for Shoo’s last soccer game of the season. They got lucky – it’s often hot and muggy by this time of year.
I can’t wait to give Beer Geek his Father’s Day/Birthday gift tomorrow. Every once in a while I find the perfect thing for him and this is one of those times.
I need a shower – I smell like vinegar…

There’s no telling what you’ll see on a run. Especially in the DC area.
Father’s Day is so early in your parts. We don’t celebrate until September.
Sounds like you had an entertaining run. It’s nice to be able to just go out and take it all in without having to stress about pace or distance.
I love it when runs turn random like that…never a dull moment to be sure
But glad no dogs got out and glad that drunk wasn’t cuffed because he bothered you! Glad you are enjoying some nice weather 
That’s a lot of random stuff to see/smell on your run! But what am I talking about. I live in NYC and smell and see that stuff all the time. I guess I don’t notice it as much anymore

It has been crazy cool in the mornings. While I love sleeping in this weather, and admittedly running in it, I want some heat/humidity to get summer tough!
I love random run observations! Sometimes I wish I could bottle the things I smell on my runs; other times, not so much!! I also wonder about the guys you see running in full rocky hoodies. In the summer.
I was lucky enough to be in your (sort of) neighborhood for a few days this week, and you’re absolutely right: The weather was GLORIOUS.
I didn’t see anything nearly as exciting as you did on my runs, though — I just stopped for some photo-ops on a “tourist run” my last day in town.
