Down to the wire

Many of you have already heard of Bia, the GPS watch designed with women in mind.  One of the key features that it comes with is the alarm feature.

I run in a relatively urban area most of the time.  In many ways, this is a super safe area to run.  Even running alone, I’m very seldom alone.  There are always people around me.  But even there, I’ve had a few scares over the years.  None where I thought I was in serious danger, but several times I’ve altered my planned run path to avoid a potential situation. I also run a lot in new places.  Whenever we go on vacation, I’m out there in an area that I only kind of know, relying on my perception of what/where is safe.  I ALWAYS run with my cell phone, but in a real dangerous situation, is that going to be enough?

As I write this, Bia only has 16 hours left to make it to their goal. They are close, but not there yet.  I supported them, will you?

Go here to support them!

And for your viewing pleasure,  a couple of pictures from my run yesterday.  Sadly, my iphone + the sun makes it so you can barely see the two really cool bridges in the background.

I supported them too! Love that alarm feature as well as the great design. Really hope they can pull it off today!

I like the idea of an alarm. I run in rural areas mostly, and alone. I do feel vulnerable sometimes. An alarm would be a great help.
