Today I hit 1000 miles for the year! That’s about two weeks earlier than last year and I didn’t train for and run a marathon this year. I’ve also hit 51.5 miles for December, so I’m just over halfway to my 100 miles for the month.
Apparently, I haven’t been pushing myself much lately. I very seldom get sore anymore. I might have tired legs if I run a lot of miles or run a lot of days in a row, but soreness just doesn’t seem to happen. Today I was sore. When I ran on the treadmill on Sunday, I ran a couple of quarter miles and a bunch of .1-.15 miles at a 7:30 pace. At the time, it felt like a really good workout. Two days later, my legs are still complaining. I managed 7 miles, but I felt every muscle in my legs on each and every step.
Thanks for all the suggestions for weight type classes. I don’t actually belong to a gym (we own a treadmill) and most of the classes are scheduled for when people aren’t working (as opposed to when kids are in school). Our county does have a fabulous gym and you can pay by the day, so I’m planning to try to get there once a week starting in January. We’ll see if that actually happens LOL.
