200 miles!!! + Fashion consult

April 1, 2014 by MCM Mama 17 Comments

I did it.  I ran 200 miles in March.  Heading into the weekend with 34 miles left to do left ME wondering if I’d manage it, but I just kept plugging along.

Random statistics:

Longest run: 13.3
Shortest run: 1.5 (timing my fastest mile)
Slowest mile: 12:** (slowest mile on Garmin 12:10, but I’m pretty sure I had slower on the treadmill)
Fastest mile: 8:09
Number of miles run on the treadmill: 42
Number of runs: 24
Number of runs with friends: 4 (not an acceptable number LOL, but the weather…)
Number of races: 2
Total time spent running: somewhere between 35 and 40 hours!
Likelihood that I will ever hit 200 miles in a month again: 0

This was a challenging month. Between the weather, a tweaked foot, and a busy schedule, finding time to run 200 miles was difficult. I’m not a fast runner, so 200 miles takes a lot of time. But I hit my training goals and I’m ready to go for Riverboat. Now I just need to spend the next week cleaning up everything that got dropped while I spent all my time running.

Since the training is in the bag, it’s time to turn my attention to more important things, like what am I going to wear on this adventure.  Luckily, Kim has told me what to wear for the first three days.  (Yes, I’m one of those people who needs serious fashion help LOL).  We’ve decided to be matchy matchy, so my outfits for the first three days are based on what we had in common.  For the other two days, I need to crowd source for fashion advice.  Give me your opinions!!!

Day 1:  Skirt Sports skirt in Oasis print with a blue Champion top and blue calf sleeves from CompresSport

day-1-riverboat

Day 2: Black Skirt Sports skirt with a Swirlgear yellow top and PROcompression socks

day-2-riverboat

Should I wear the yellow or the white socks?

Day 3: Navy Athleta Relay skirt with a pink Champion top  and pink PROcompression socks

day-3-riverboat

Day 4: Skirt Sports skirt  in Paradise print with ????

day-4-riverboat

Green shirt/green socks?  Purple socks?  Something else entirely?

Day 5: Skirt Sports skirt in Pink Crush with ????

day-5-riverboat

Here’s where I really need your help!!!

Should I wear:

  1. Black top + black socks
  2. Black top + orange socks
  3. Orange top + black socks
  4. Orange top + orange socks
  5. Something else entirely???  (If so, what???)

I’ll admit, there’s a lot of satisfaction in rocking the training so well and reaching the point where I can focus on entirely First World Problems.

How was your March?  Did the weather mess with your training?

Last day to enter the Apera Sprint Bag giveaway!!!

Wow you continue to amaze with the miles you rack up each month! I’m going with #4. Love to co-ordinate my outfits and I love skirt sports. Looking forward to spring & summer so I can wear more skirts!

Lol… I love these types of problems 🙂 That skirt is so awesome I’d go with black top and black socks. For day 3 I’d go with the green socks with the green shirt. And congrats on all the March miles, that’s amazing!

I agree. I like the shirt and socks to match. So I would go for yellow socks, green socks and black shirt and socks.

Day 4 I’d go with the green socks. Day 5 I’d go with black shirt and black socks. All the outfits are super cute!

I’ve been wondering how those Skirt Sport skirts are? Are they longer than other running skirts?

Haha, I told you what to wear? You sent me to Target for the blue shirt, so I think you have good taste and are very fashion capable.
So very impressed with you and your 200 mile month. I will never, ever do that. What a great accomplishment!

Man! I only completed 43 miles for all of March! I’d say black shirt with the skirt with black socks too.

Congrats on the miles!! I would match the socks to the shirt and then maybe choose a day in the week that you don’t match them up.

Your last fact (chance of running 200 miles again) made me laugh! What a GREAT month for you!! We run at very similar speeds so running 200 miles a month would be a big deal for me as well. Congrats!!

I never had any doubt that you’d hit the 200. When you put your mind to something you’re unstoppable.

Erika – WOWEE – that number is just incredible! Congratulations! I love to coordinate my outfits too and if money were no object – no doubt I would do even more than I already do – so go for it! For Day 5 I’d go for option 4 – Orange top & socks and for Day 4 I would say match – so from what you have laid out I would go all green 😉

Have a FAB week!! Can’t wait to hear all about it!

I have three of those skirts! =) I’m running in the pink skirt w/a black shirt this weekend – but I think the orange looks spring-ier! So I vote orange shirt black socks. And purple socks with the green shirt and black and white skirt.

Congrats on the 200 miles, that’s just amazing. You rock!
