2017 was a good year! I ran 1 marathon, 9 half marathons, a 17.75k, a 10 miler, a 15k, 2 10ks, a 4 miler, a 5k, and two Ragnar Relays for a total of 19 races. Not counting Ragnar, that’s 17 races. Boom! Ran the year again (but not quite as crazy as the 13in13 and the 14in14 or my quest for Venus and then for Mercury). All in all, this was a great race year for me – mostly good races (even the bad ones had some good in them), 5 new states, and a couple of “fast for me” races.
I started and ended my year with Pacers. They were also one of my favorite race companies, with 6 races with them, including my fastest 10 miler in a long time.
My total half marathons for the year was 9, with two of them celebrating their 10th anniversary. It was fun to return to ZOOMA Annapolis for their 10th race since I ran my very first half marathon at their first race!
I also ran the 10th anniversary Ragnar DC. To add to the fun, I ran Ragnar Trail Richmond. The combination earned me the super cool Mud Slinger medal!
And any “bling” recap would be seriously lacking if I didn’t include my Marine Corps Marathon medal. This was my 4th MCM – 2018 will give me entry into the Runner’s Club and I can’t wait!
But the best bling of the year? The growler from the Growler Relay. It tops all the rest because I can put beer in it. And we all know how I feel about beer.
2018 is still very up in the air. I am a Rock’n’Roll Ambassador again, so I’ll be taking advantage of those races to hopefully knock out a new state. I also “accidentally” signed up for the Frederick Half again (I just love this race!) MCM is a must do and hopefully I’ll get to do the 17.75 race as my entry. And Rehoboth was so much fun that I’d love to do it again.
Maybe I should start actually putting things on a calendar LOL.
