I am *SO* done with winter. *SO* done. Winter doesn’t seem to be quite done with us yet, but I see spring just over the horizon. I.can.not.wait! (Nevermind that then we’ll be dealing with allergies. I’ve spent the entire winter stuffed up from colds. I’m used to breathing being a challenge in and of itself.)
March 1 starts 3 challenges for me: 1 personal and 2 fun!
My mileage goal for March is 200 miles.
200 miles?!? I know many serious runners hit that regularly, but despite training for two marathons and a five half marathons in five days series, I’ve never quite done it. I almost got there last year, but ended up injured.
It’s going to be close. I will have to hit pretty much every.single.run I have planned.
#ZOOMAphotoaday
ZOOMA and Altra shoes are teaming up to give away some shoes!!! Altra Intuition 1.5’s have been in my running rotation for quite a while. I love the zero drop combined with cushion. It’s the best of both worlds!

Finally, I’m going to be doing the #happyfitMarch challenge. When I’m deep in training, I tend to forget to do anything else healthy for my body. I’m all eat.all.the.things and No.time.to.stretch.
Do the thing, take a picture, post to Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter. Want more details? Go to Happy Fit Mama for all the fine print.

Are you participating in any challenges for March? Are you as desperate for spring as I am?
If the designed training plan takes you over 200 miles (and apparently it does) why would it be a challenge? The challenge would be to do every run in the training plan with the end result being over 200 miles. On the other hand if you have to miss a run (soreness, minor injury, free beer) does that mean you are going to deviate from your training plan to meet the Challenge? I have to say, the coach in me wants to make you drink a Bud Light. I would rather see you focus on becoming as strong as possible for the 5 back-to-backs and if something else comes out it, great. But now you are putting undue pressure on yourself. I know you are smart enough to take an unscheduled rest day if your body needs it, but this challenge seems like it may push you to make a poor decision.
Sorry. Woke up with my coaches hat on this morning… 🙂
Thanks for mentioning my #HappyFitMarch Challenge. It’s going to be good. Plus it’s the perfect compliment to all the running you’ll be doing! Woohoo!
I am definitely anxious for spring, the bitterness is seriously getting the best of me. Last week was a tease getting some nicer days and then it going back to freezing this week.
Good luck with the 200 mile month, I have the same goal. I have never hit it but come close a few times!
I like the monthly mileage goal! Def giving the Zooma Photo Challenge a shot.
Wow – 50 miles a week. That’s a lot of time on the road (or the treadmill). But I’m pretty sure you’re up for it. When you set your mind to something you generally get it done.
200 miles?? I cannot fathom. I hit near 90 once, but that’s about it. Can I be you when I grow up? Oh, right, I’m not planning on growing up. ;-p
I am so done with winter as well!! This up and down of sick/not sick has been driving me crazy. So delusional was I when clicking on this post that I accidentally read, “Today’s mileage goal is 200 miles.” haha good luck with your March goal! this is awesome 🙂 #SITSsharefest
These are great challenges. 200 miles is a lot! I love how you continue to find new and interesting ways to push past boundaries!
