30 states and 30 half marathons

April 24, 2014 by MCM Mama 18 Comments

Unfortunately not 30 half marathons in 30 states…

With the completion of the Riverboat Series, I have now finished races in 30 states!

30-states-randomI’m really excited to hit 30 states, but, umm, I changed the rules (and convinced Beer Geek to go along with it) – I now want to do half marathons in every state.  Luckily, I’ve got 14 states + DC already done, so it’s not like I’m starting from 0.  I’m not in a rush.  Sure, I’d love to race in 50 states by the time I’m 50, but as long as I’m making forward progress, I’m ok with where ever I am.

It’s about the journey, not the goal.

In other big news,  I have Nike Women’s Half Marathon this Sunday.  Why is this big news?

Nike will be my 30th lifetime half marathon!!!

If you’d told me, back when this blog started almost 6 years ago, I never would have believed I’d run that many.  And at the end of next month, I return to where it all started. Zooma Annapolis was my first half marathon and now it will be the final half in my quest for Venus.  Seems fitting!

ZOOMA Ambassador Badge 2014(2)If you’d like to join me there, use my code to get 10% off! (And feel free to share it with your running group, your friends, your frenemies LOL… ) It’s going to be an awesome race!

zooma_discountWonder what crazy adventure I’ll move on to next…

Helps that my geek counts counties. I can get him to go just about anywhere if we can hit a new county…

Wow 30 states?? That’s amazing! I wish I could say I want to try doing that but budget wise, not sure when I’d be able to complete all 50 states, but hey you never know! 🙂
Best of luck in the Nike half and congrats on your 30th half marathon!

Thanks! It does get expensive. I try to run as many less expensive races as I can find.
