5 Reasons to Run ZOOMA Bermuda

June 9, 2019 by MCM Mama 13 Comments

Have you heard the news? ZOOMA is going to Bermuda! Mark your calendar for President’s Day weekend 2020.

Here are the top 5 reasons you should join us…

  1. It’s a ZOOMA race. All ZOOMA races are women focused weekends. ZOOMA hosts a race (and often challenges with extra races and medals) surrounded by an awesome finish line party and events like yoga. Bermuda will have all that ZOOMA races normally offer and more! And I can guarantee that the medal(s) will be awesome!
  2. The weather! The average temp in Bermuda in February is in the 70s. I don’t know about where you live, but in February, Virginia is miserable. It’s cold and grey and just plain unpleasant. Someplace sunny and warm? Sign me up!
  3. Beaches and Forts and Lighthouses. (And caves and marshes and trails.) Whether you want to relax or hike or scuba dive or explore, Bermuda has options for everyone. It might even be the right time to go whale watching. In fact, the hardest part will be narrowing down your choices to the amount of time you have to spend.
  4. The food. As I was researching what to do in Bermuda, restaurant after restaurant came up as suggested places to eat. You could seriously spend your entire time on the island doing nothing but restaurant hopping and still not hit them all. Additionally, it will be spiny lobster season when the race occurs. What can beat a post race treat of incredibly fresh seafood???
  5. You can join me for a run or a beer (or both)! That’s right, I’ll be heading there as part of the ZOOMA crew. I’ll be running the race as my 3rd international half marathon! And of course, Beer Geek and I will be checking out the local brewpub (and hopefully the local brewery), as well as the lighthouses.

Want to join me? Registration will be opening soon. Join the Facebook group to be among the first to hear all the news. And if you are among the first to register, you’ll get some awesome extra swag! So make sure to watch for the big news. Code MCMMAMA will get you 15% off as well!

I was really excited when I saw this but since it’s the off season no direct flights from here. That is kind of a deal breaker for me. I am sure I will have major FOMO though

What a great spot for a race! It’s been forever since I’ve been to Bermuda – and February here in the Boston area is just painful!

Sounds like a good time. I’ve never run this brand of race, but I have been to Bermuda and it’s awesome.

Sounds like it’s going to be a great time! February and March are my biggest months for travel and racing, so those are all booked for me already (I don’t even know how it happened, but here we are), but I know you are going to have a blast!

I want to go. Born and raised in Bermuda. Still have family and friends there. Did my first race at home last year, International Marathon Weekend.
You will definitely enjoy the experience. Let me know if I could help you with your plans.

I love the idea of mixing exercise and vacation! I’m considering teaching group fitness classes at a resort and combining the two 🙂
