1. I continue to work on the barefoot running. I’m up to 2.3 miles on the treadmill now. I’m still trying to figure out what to wear outside that will protect my feet from asphalt, but not compromise the feedback and feel of barefoot running. Last night, I watched a video on Jamoosh’s blog that showed some drills for correcting posture. Of course, as soon as I watched it, I had to see how my feet hit the ground when I run. As I ran around the basement in my pajamas, I discovered that when I’m running barefoot, I can’t do a heel strike, only a mid-foot strike (which is good). I wanted to try out the jumping rhythm drill, but, ahem, I was in my pajamas and was afraid I might hurt the girls.
2. I spent Wednesday afternoon talking with an IRL mommy friend about her running. I’m going to be working with her to help her become a stronger runner and hopefully run a race this fall. That’s two people now who actually want to hear what I have to say. So.very.exciting!!
3. I am amazed at the number of participants in my Virtual Race!!! I think there are 66 at this point. Thank you all so much (and to all my new commenters and followers, WELCOME and I’ll be around to your blogs as soon as I can). There will be at awards for the top in each distance, plus AT LEAST three random winners. I reserve the right to have additional random winners or award things for reports that I love. Oh, and if you want to do the 40k over two runs, I’ve decided that’s ok. I’ve realized that most of you who are considering that option are training for fall marathons and won’t have hit that kind of mileage yet. Oh, and when you are done with my race, make sure to check out Amanda’s PR challenge for October and November. You know I’ll be doin’ it.
If you have commented or sent me an email, your name should be below. Please check to see if you are there and if your link is correct. If I’ve made a mistake (’cause my eyes were crossing by the time I finished) or you aren’t on the list (or you want to join now), send me an email at mom2shoo at gmail.com. I’m so excited!

I love how I'm almost always last on lists. Please tell me there will be a prize for the slowest participant. I'd have a pretty good shot at winning that one. π
I've got a 404 error on my link. :(Congrats on a getting a new coaching client – that's very exciting!!
I'm enjoying reading about your barefoot running. A friend of mine has recently started using Nike Frees. He loves them — trains and races in the. Have you tried them?
I'm going for "Best Poop Filled Report"

So excited for the virtual race! And beginning to think I am kind of crazy for choosing to run 24.8 miles for fun (so doing it in one run btw)!
