Happy Saturday! I’m sitting here with a cup of coffee, having survived my first holiday party of the season. No, I’m not hungover (I had to drive), just tired. Anyways, I’m joining up with my friends Deborah, Coco, and Lynda for a virtual coffee date.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I’m really excited to have been invited back to be a ZOOMA ambassador this year. The program has changed a bit, so when I get my code, it will be good for any of the three races that they have this year: Cape Cod, Annapolis, and Florida.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you I had a great time last night at an MRTT holiday party. I belong to a couple of local groups because I’m kind of on the border between. I tend to run more with one group and party and volunteer more with the other LOL, but last night I partied with the group I usually run with. It was fun to see everyone in pretty clothes and with their hair and makeup done. We all clean up nice. A bonus was seeing Deb from Confessions of a Mother Runner who I haven’t seen in ages.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I’m a little bit sad that I only have three “races” on my calendar for next year. Granted, one of those is a 7 day series of half marathons, one is ZOOMA, and the other is a Skirt Sports race, so they will all be awesome, but they aren’t until May and June. I have no idea what I will do with myself until then. Maybe once we get Shoo’s soccer schedule I can squeeze in a half earlier in the year.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that last night I work heels for the first time in ages. They weren’t even that high and they are one of my most comfortable pairs. I woke up this morning and one of my feet is super sore. Now I remember why I stopped wearing heels – it interferes with my running.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I really really want to run a Ragnar or other relay race this year, but not in the DC area. Anyone have a team they want me to join in some cool location?
Finally, if we were having coffee, I’d tell you that the Tuesdays on the Run topic for this week is “the Race Expo”. Tell us what you love, what you hate, where the best one is…
So, we’ll see you there, right???
Happy Saturday! What would you share with me if we were having coffee???

That is so cool being able to run into and know a fellow blogger. I highly doubt that will ever happen to me in Sonoma. I would maybe have that luck in a larger area like San Francisco {attending a race}? I have not scheduled my race calendar yet for next year. I loved being an Ambassador for the Napa Valley Zooma, so fun.
Thank you for coffee today 🙂
I can’t wear heels either! I used to and I have a lot of really nice ones. But my achilles and plantar fascia don’t like it too much so I pretty much wear Born and Dansko shoes! Anything to keep me running!
I used to have a huge collection (my husband called me his little Imelda). They’ve all been replaced by running shoes.
I don’t wear heels either for the same reason. The ladies at work click around loudly in 4″ spikes. I’m sure they think I’m old and dowdy. With my foot injury, all of my 2016 plans are up in the air. I don’t like not knowing. I do want to run a ZOOMA race!
I used to wear them all the time, but injured my knee in them when I was training for my first marathon, so now I’m kind of scared to wear them.
It was so great to see you last night! So glad you made it. I am not hungover either didn’t even have one drink but so exhausted #old. I have no doubt that you will find some other races to add to your schedule for the spring. MRTT is so good at that aren’t we? Great to catch up last night and over coffee
I know that once I actually know our schedule for spring, I’ll be able to add in some races. I’m debating entering the lattery for Cherry Blossom.
Congrats! I was accepted to be a Zooma Ambassador as well! I’ll be at the Annapolis race.
Awesome! I look forward to getting to know you.
Woohoo, I’m so excited to be a Zooma Ambassador as well! That looks like a really fun holiday party – I think they all start for me next week! It’s nice sometimes to just see what races are out there as they get closer, vs being so rigidly planned. I haven’t done Ragnar yet and it’s such a dream for me…I need to hop on somebody’s team next year!
You should definitely do Ragnar. It’s an awesome experience!
LOL, I stopped wearing heels because they interfere with my running too ! I had my first party last night and made sure not to over eat, nor did I drink…. I was running this morning ! Great motivation to keep the calories at bay !
Id tell you YOUR IDEA OF HEELS and MINE are the same and the child begs to differ and wants us BOTH in spike heels all the damn time 🙂
Heels interfere with my running – too true! I actually wore a pair of dress boots with a small heel to work today, just to test the waters. I’ve been dealing with shin and foot injuries since…June? July? Feels like forever. I will probably regret my decision come 5 o’clock, but I’m sick of wearing my ugly flat shoes. I sit 95% of the day though, so fingers crossed!
