Some weekends you have incredible plans and go out and do adventurous things. Some weekends you take it easy and just enjoy the life you have. This weekend was one of the latter types, but it was still an amazing weekend for me.
Friday night we stayed in and took it easy. We also finished the remaining beer from Ragnar Trail Richmond. Yes, there are benefits to being sponsored by a brewpub and being the captain.
Saturday I got up early (but not crazy early) to volunteer at a Ragnar event. The weather was crummy, so it didn’t go as well as expected, but I had a fun time.
Then I came home and went for a run and did some chores around the house. I’m wearing the new Skirt Sports Hover Capri here (affiliate link) and it’s super lightweight and comfy.
I also got a mock up of our kitchen renovation. Yes, when you set your stove on fire, the renovation that you’ve been talking about for years finally becomes more of a priority LOL.
Saturday night, Beer Geek and I went out for our 22nd anniversary. We only go to this restaurant for New Year’s Eve and anniversaries, so when we do, we go all out. Starters, main course, dessert and a bottle of wine. So very good, but I was crazy full when we got done!
For Mother’s Day, I asked for three things: to sleep in, to go for a run, and Thai food for dinner. Apparently the cat didn’t get the memo, so sleeping in meant 8:30am. (Which, is actually a couple of extra hours than any other day this week, so really it was sleeping in.)
I woke up to a bunch of tags on Facebook. Why? Because I was the mom in the Marine Corps Marathon graphic wishing moms a happy Mother’s Day. How cool is that?
After a lazy morning, I did get out for a run in the warm sunny weather. It’s been such a weird spring that my body has no idea how to handle a 70+ degree day, but I got a few miles in.
Then we had Thai for dinner as requested.
Maybe my weekend wasn’t the most exciting, but it was a lovely weekend that finished with a lazy day and beautiful weather. Now I need to survive two crazy weeks and then it’s time to run another half marathon series!
I’m linking up with HoHo and Tricia for the Weekly Recap. Stop by and check out their blogs and then check out a few in the linkup!
WOW for that reno.
come stay here while it’s happening.
Ill cook for you!
ok
maybe not.
I love you too much for that 🙂
I love that MCM featured you!! Now if that doesn’t give you incentive to run it, nothing will! Hope you enjoyed your Mother’s Day!
All that food looks so delicious! Sounds like you had a great Mother’s Day! How cool you were on the MCM page. The other year my friend texted me and asked if that pic was me and I was on Disney’s instagram they posted from the marathon. I thought that was pretty cool!
It’s nice to have those relaxing weekends sometimes! Great photo for MCM! I hope you had a nice Mother’s Day.
My cat lets me sleep and loves to sleep up against me. I slept until 7 yesterday, which felt great. Sundays are strength training so I don’t need to get up early for a run.
I follow MCM on FB and had to go back and look at the picture. Awesome!
Sounds like a good weekend to me! How fun that MCM featured you! We’ve been talking about remodeling our kitchen forever – maybe I need to set my stove on fire to move this process along 😉
How cool that you were the featured runner on the MCM social media graphic! It sounds like you had a nice and laid back Mother’s Day – the best kind!
Sounds like a great anniversary weekend! The hover capri looks great on you
That is SO cool that our the poster girl! I didn’t set my alarm for Sunday (because I was so tired from Saturday’s relay), but I “slept in” until just after 8:00 as well. Crazy how “sleeping in” means different things for different folks 😉
Happy Anniversary! How cool to be in the MCM graphic. I’m very impressed! We love Thai food and go to our local restaurant almost weekly. Red Curry Chicken is my favorite. Good luck on the half marathon series. Which one are you doing this time? Thanks for linking, Erika!
