Kim tagged me on Facebook yesterday to discuss training for her goal of 3 half marathons in 3 days (yes, she’s running the first 3 days of Riverboat with me! Woot!) To help her out, I found the link to my training plan from last time.
Last time, I started training in November. Last time, the races were in mid-March.
This time the races are in mid-April.
Holy crap, that means I need to start training NOW.

What this week looks like:
I haven’t written a training plan yet, but I’m thinking it will be similar to what actually happened last time, but hopefully a little higher mileage since I’m starting with a long run of 13.1 this time. It would be nice to do without the crazy calf issues that hit me a month out last time too! Perhaps I should get a standing appointment with my chiro LOL.
Thankfully, I have the lovely ladies of Moms Run This Town to run with today. And #RWrunstreak. And a half marathon this weekend. And next.
Guess I’m off to a good start!
Somehow, it is totally appropriate to start a 5 in 5 plan with a half marathon long run in the first week!
You did fiiiine last year, even though your training dropped off. I’m not convinced we need tons of double digit long runs in a row…I feel like (for me) working up to three 8m, three 9m would be okay. But, then again, WTF do I know about 3+ halfs in a row.
Thanks for posting your training and thoughts. You know I’m devouring every tidbit of advice you have to offer.
