I just totally rocked my 13 mile run – 2:04:30! That’s a 9:35 pace, people! I even did negative splits with the second half of the run being about 40 seconds faster than the first half. I did 13.1 in 2:05:24 and finished my 13.25 miles in a total of 2:07:10.
My first mile was the slowest at 10:17 but that had more to do with traffic lights than anything else. I had two miles around 9:10 in the last part of the run and my other slow miles were around 9:46 (with a bit of everything in between). I set garmin on auto lap and just ran comfortably. I had some fast miles early on and was a bit afraid of that coming back to bite me in the end, but surprisingly it didn’t. My mile times fluctuated wildly depending on hills, wind, and traffic lights.
I don’t expect to break the 2 hour point in Delaware in March, but I may be close. Woot!
Good thing we’re planning dinner at a brewpub the night before the race.
I don’t know that I can fill Jess‘ shoes with drunken posting, but I’ll definitely be talking more about beer in the upcoming months. We have a lot of beer related stuff going on, so there will be plenty to talk about.ย \
FANTASTIC JOB CHICA!!! That is freaking awesome ;D ;DYou better be careful in enticing the G. You don’t want to upset Joy ๐ Dang it seems like all the ladies want a piece of the G LOL
Great job on the 13 miles, especially with the negative splits!! And yeah to what Marcy said. You don’t want your blog disappearing, do you??? (What is up with the GP chick popularity?)
Great job!! I think you have a great chance of breaking two hours! And beer is great food, I fully support that statement!
what a great training run! Sounds like you’ll be strong and fast at the race!
Wowie! That is a fabulous training run. Maybe I should drink more beer!If you can run that fast by yourself with stoplights, you can definitely break the two hour mark in March. great job!
Marcy & joySashaY – Simple. I'm every girl's gay friend. So I'm safe, and unthreatening and easy to talk to comforting and warm and fuzzy and beery and cheery.Except I'm NOT GAY!!1!So while they're all crying, I just keep my eyes on the prize – their beers – and then I say, "Why don't you head to the little girls' room and fix your face?" and as soon as they do – WHOMP! – that beer goes right down my unsuspecting gullet!! (Because my gullet is kinda thick and never sees the beer coming, no matter how many I drink.)So I listen to their problems, but while they're saying "Wah, wah, he done me wrong, give me a Gay Hug!" all's I'm hearing is: "Beery beer beer-beer!"What a scam! They become, as it were, "bedegat" by me, which I think means "bedazzled", but you'll have to ask the foax at blogger to be certain, because that's my word verification word.O – and MCM Mama? You still here? Nice job on the run.You gonna finish that beer?
LMAO at the comments. Awesome job on your run! I may have to get into the beer to see if that works for me! ๐
Nicely done! Woooohooo!
Beer passes the test… you ARE my new hero!
So, maybe hearing that Cure song in your head is what helped you get such a fantastic time for your run? No? I think you should thank me for that. ๐
Awesome 13 miler! You are definitely on track to break two hours.
Great job, the beer worked! You can totally break 2 hours.
Great pace! If you can do that by yourself, with a few traffic light-slow miles, I definitely think you can shoot for 2 hours in March! (Especially with some beer carb-loading.) Jeez, you’re making me want to get a Garmin again…
Great job on the 13 miler!
Amazing run!! I’m so jealous.
