So, I’ve been dragging my feet on registering for the Toronto race. Not sure why, but I just wasn’t feeling the love. Yesterday, I found a Maine race! I’m so excited!!
It’s the Maine Lobster Festival 10K in Rockland, Maine. It’s a day after the one I tried to get in, which actually works better because it gives us an extra day to get up there. We are going to rent a house in the area for a week and check out all the cool stuff around there. We were up that way 15 years ago on our very first vacation together, so I really can’t wait. This time we’ll have a house! with beds! and running water! (We camped last time and I’m not much of a camper. I love outdoor stuff, but I want a shower and a cushy bed at the end of the day.)
Tomorrow night is our big beer tasting with our friends. I can hear Beer Geek putting the beer in the fridge right now. I’m going to run at least four miles tomorrow morning so that I can wait until Sunday afternoon to run.
Yesterday’s stats:
Running – 3.5 miles in 30:30
Walking – none because of the rain
Strength – upper body
Today:
Walking – at least 6 miles
Strength – abs
Apologies for my blog looking sort of weird right now. I started playing with the code (woot, I used my brain!), but I still have a lot I want to do and not a lot of time to do it.
I;ve been to Maine (not that THAT counts for much) :-)I immediately thought …woah! blog layout change! Have fun with that!!
the while trip to Maine sounds very exciting!!
sounds like a great time — you not coming to TO anymore? have a great weekend.
Does Maine have good beer? Hmmm… maybe that's the REAL motive for going to Maine???? Either way, it sounds like a great place to go for a race! Especially the lobster. Beer & lobster. Does it get much better than that?
Maine sounds awesome!Nice three-column layout, too 🙂
That sounds like fun, I’ve always wanted to go to Maine. Glad to hear you found a race.
The trip to Maine sounds fun. Have fun with the beer tasting!
I want ot go to Maine some day, but I’m not sure how or why I’d ever get there. Perhaps I need to find a race there. :o)
Hi,When I saw this post about running here in Rockland, Maine, I couldn’t resist adding my two cents. When you come to Maine, you might want to take a side trip down to Marshall Point Light in Port Clyde. That’s the lighthouse Forrest Gump visited on his cross country run in the movie. I’ve painted it a few times. You can see one of my paintings here:http://tinyurl.com/cududc (sold)You can run right up to it like Forrest did! ;)Have fun on your visit here.Brian
Lobstah! Shoot, I’d be there too. :)Have a great weekend.
I’ve never been to Maine, but I hear it’s beautiful, so I’m sure it’s a wonderful setting for a race!
Oh, and as per your comment on my blog about your April visit, I’d love to arrange a meet-up! But I don’t have your email, and I don’t see it on your blog now.But you can email me and we’ll set soemthing up! tygress422 at yahoo dot com
