Jones started back to school today. Despite a LOT of anxiety on his part, the day actually went pretty well. If you ask him, though, it was a horrible day. Why? Because apparently the principal “yelled” at the classes during his lunch because they were all too wild. He’s such a sensitive guy that he’s convinced he’s in trouble even though he wasn’t talking and his class wasn’t the class that was being wild.

Loving that school has FINALLY started! Although this summer sped by pretty quick. With your last post – I can't get my easy runs below a 10:20 pace :(It's super annoying to be persistently slow, even though I'm hitting my speedwork & tempo paces.
Yay for back to school! Good luck getting back on a schedule and deciding what to do first with your free time 🙂
Ah…back to school. I like this time of year. Although getting back into a schedule is as tough on me as it is on the kids. 🙂 Impressive split times!
Ian goes back today. I'm of two minds about this because it's great he'll be getting back into a routine, but he's also a lot like his father (me), who bloody hated school, and so Ian always wants to be walked through his homework assignments, which means the first thing I hear when I get in the door from work is "Daddy, help me with my homework!"; and even though he has the ability to be neat, he rushes and rarely is.Like I said – just like me. I really don't get how my parents resisted the urge to murder me. I seem, in retrospect, so murderable. No jury would have convicted them.Hey, here's your wine-swilling mojo back: Sorry I took it. I don't really want it. All I did with it was hang it on the wall and toss darts at it.That got old, fast.Go ahead and drink wine. See if I care. Just means more beer for me.Which, by the way, I better win this stupid beer contest of yours! If not, I'm starting a blogospheric rumor that you and SteveQ are an item.
Gosh, my kids go back in August. I didn't realize so many were still on summer break.
So many options! I'm sure that alone time will fill up fast.
I'm sure you'll find all kinds of things to do in your time at home during the day 🙂
Cupcakes sound like a great way to celebrate the first da of school – even if they werne't great. More frosting solves makes just about anything better.
I have that problem when I finally have time to myself, I look around at all the things I want to do and don't know where to start.
Wow, time just for you?! Cool! First borns are SO sensitive. Sophie's the same way. At least your youngest won't suffer the same plight. He'll probably be leading the rowdiness, is my guess. You are a running Goddess. So impressed!
That's great that you'll have time to tackle some things around the house, although I bet you'll miss having Shoo around.
What a sweet memory…baking cupcakes together on the first day of school! And, yeah for DEDICATED YOU time! I can't wait for it:> BTW, we only moved 0.5 mile away from our old place. We live in Alcova Heights now.
