So, I guess not every run can be a good one. Today, 30 seconds into my run, my Garmin beeped “low battery”. I figured, no big deal, it usually lasts an hour after that and I was only doing 4 miles. At about three quarters of a mile, it died.
I started my stop watch (yes, I wear the G and a watch. I’m a geek.) I had been doing a little faster than a 10 minute pace, so I figured I’d just run another 32 minutes and it would be at least four miles. When I got home, I used mapmyrun and realized it was BARELY 4 miles and it took me at least 40 minutes.
Oh well. It was one of the more humid runs I’ve had in a while (77% humidity) and pretty warm and sunny and I wasn’t pushing myself because I have the 17 mile run on Friday.
I’m already nervous about the 17 miles. Not sure why, since I’ve done both 14 and 15. I guess because it will be my first run that is likely to take longer than three hours.
