Today is the Boston Marathon. Today, runners will line up at the start line to take back the race that ended in such a horrific way last year. Today, runners across the nation will wear their running shoes to work and run miles to dedicate to Boston. Today, I will be cheering from afar as many of my friends line up to race. I may never run Boston, but today I will watch and cheer as we take “our” race back.
Today, we are all #BostonStrong.
Today, I will also be recovering from my adventures of last week. Amazingly, my body feels great. I’ve run two short runs since Wednesday and my legs felt completely recovered on both. Mentally, though, I’m still recovering. Running my A races, all back to back, and finishing with a PR in the last one, was a huge high. I felt like I was walking on clouds. But, what goes up, must come down and I’m finding myself a little blue and slightly adrift. It probably doesn’t help that I have no idea how to structure my running schedule as I recover from 5 races and taper for Nike on Sunday. And let’s not even discuss all the unpacking, laundry, and general housekeeping that needs to happen. Apparently when you spend weeks running 50+ miles, things get a little discombobulated. So, I’m taking today as an easy day: a little running, a little laundry, a little chilling in my quiet house.
Apparently Ella does not intend
to be left behind next time…

It’s truly amazing to me how you are able to run so many races in such a short amount of time without getting injured. You’re a machine!
I may not be fast, but I can run a lot of miles LOL.
I’m so impressed you are working on Venus! I’m still trying to get off of Neptune! I nominated you for a Liebster award on my blog today 🙂 http://babybluestorunningshoes.blogspot.com/2014/04/liebster-award.html
Thanks! I got Earth last year, so I couldn’t resist trying for Venus.
Thanks for the nomination, but I don’t really fit their “new blog” category. Appreciate it though!
I love that picture of Ella in the suitcase. It’s so cute!
Yeah, she has her moments of cute. ;o) She sleeps everywhere except in the cat beds we bought her…
Wow! What an accomplishment that will be for you!! Awesome and keep it up! xo
Thanks! I’m pretty excited that I’ve made it this far.
Congrats to all the winners. You are amazing! I’m getting excited about 4 half marathons in 70 days.
