Just in case you need a reminder or are new to the challenge here's the calendar: Remember if you add pictures to instagram and use #rockyourcore, you can get extra entries in the giveaway below. The Ultimate Coffee Date – April Version
Good morning! We are home from our adventures to Chicago and Wisconsin. It's good to be home, but it was nice to be spoiled for a few days. It was nice for someone else to plan the meals. I don't mind cooking, but I am not a fan of meal planning LOL. So, today, I'm joining up with my friends Deborah, Coco, and Lynda for a virtual coffee date. If we were having coffee, I'd tell you that a month from now I'll be done with my back to back marathons challenge. This week I will run 15+ and 20 back to back as my last long training runs. It's a good thing I work for a close friend because I had to tell him that on Thursday and Friday I'll be running most of the school day and that after the run I'm stupid. I actually read an article … [Read more...]
Five Good Things Friday
Today's Friday Five topic is "Five Good Things" which is honor of today being Good Friday. I'm linking up with the lovely ladies of the DC Trifecta: Mar, Cynthia, and Courtney. I'm going with five good things that happened this week: 1. The boys and I spent two days with my parents in Chicago this week. We managed to cram in four venues and see such awesome things as Sue the Dinosaur and a blue lobster. I love that my boys are old enough to do these kind of activities and really learn from them now. … [Read more...]

#RockYourCore and Access Granted
I feel like I haven't stopped moving since Wednesday. I ran 20 miles on Wednesday, ran 12 miles on Thursday and dealt with a broken furnace, went on a field trip to Mount Vernon in the rain on Friday, ran Marine Corps 17.75 on Saturday morning and then flew to Wisconsin. Oy, I'm tired and my feet hurt. (Yes, I am amazed that the only parts of me that are really feeling all those miles are my feet and toes. ) Moving on... Remember how I mentioned issues with my core during my back to back long runs? Well, I've joined with an awesome group of bloggers to work on that (for you and for me!) Join the April Rock Your Core Challenge! … [Read more...]
Cross Training: Pure Barre Review
When Patty and April suggested we use the topic "cross training" for this week's Tuesdays on the Run, I just laughed. After all, that meant my post was basically going to be: Cross training: I don't. But that didn't seem like a very good post, so I went out and cross trained. Seriously, the things I do for you people. With a little nudging from Courtney, yesterday I attended my second Pure Barre class. I'd attended one class before that was offered to MRTT members, but it was in a location too far from my house. I know myself - I can barely make it to the yoga and bike studios that are walkable from my house. It's totally unlikely I'd *drive* 20 minutes to work out. Anyways, a new studio has opened and it's easy to … [Read more...]
