International Women’s Day is March 8, 2020. It is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality. It has been celebrated for over a century and I hope that in my lifetime it becomes truly just a celebration of women, rather than a call to action. Unfortunately, we are not there yet.

ZOOMA Women’s Races supports and honors women every day, but for International Women’s Day, we are hosting a virtual race to specifically support Women for Women International. Women for Women not only supports women in conflict areas directly by giving them support and tools that they need to overcome, but they also work to educate and lead to changes so that someday maybe these programs won’t be necessary.
Want to join us? Sign up for the Women’s Day 5K + 1K virtual race. Run or walk your distance anytime this week where ever you want (or join us on March 8 at our ZOOMA Lost Pines race!) Post your pictures with your bib and tag us @zoomarun and #womensday5k.
I knocked out my run this morning because, as the race director for ZOOMA, I am unlikely to actually be able to run on Sunday.

Virtual bib is only $10 and for $29 you can get a super cute tank top plus a medal. I’ll even give you a 15% off discount code: RUNWITHME. For every $500 we raise, ZOOMA will sponsor a sister for one year and help provide training and resources to help our sisters in war torn countries create their own businesses and support their families.
What are you waiting for? Join us and help us get representation from all 50 states and as many countries as we can!
