Confidence Builder

So, sometimes I think I’ve bitten off more than I can chew.  Five half marathons in 5 days?  What the hell was I thinking?  I haven’t run long since April.  I haven’t run fast since 2010. What makes me think I can do this?

Today I ran 10 miles.  They weren’t awful.  In fact, they had moments of really good.  On the whole, they were ok.  But you know what makes them awesome?  The fact that yesterday I ran 7 miles.  And the day before I ran 5.3.  And the day before that I ran 5.1.  The back to back mileage is building slowly and my body is playing along.  That is what made the 10 today awesome.

Slow and steady.  That’s how I’m going to get there and that’s how I’ll be running the races.

HBBC

Total HBBC points = 127.5
HBBC Week 3 – 27.3
Wednesday = 10 so far (10 mile run)
Tuesday = 10 (7 mile run+ veggies + FB + raking leaves)
Monday = 7.3 (5.3 mile run + veggies + FB)
HBBC Week 2 – 46.8
HBBC Week 1 – 50.4
HBBC pre-bonus points – 3

    HOLY SMOKES! I didn’t know you were doing this. That’s awesome! I am still trying to figure out how I’m going to make it through 30 days of 5K…….with a hlaf marathon thrown in there. You are amazing!

    You’ll make it through them and love it. It’s that slow build up that will help you through them when the time comes. Keep up the great work!

    You’re getting there. Bit by bit you’re building your strength and stamina. When those half marathons roll around you’re going to be ready.

    Did I read that right? 5 in 5 days! Wow! And I was wondering today if I could tackle a 50 km and a full in one month!? Maybe I can. I think I can. Thanks for the confidence booster!
