I need to go to bed. I’ve been tired all day (thanks to a 2 or more hour hang out with Shoo around 4am), but I had almost zero kid free time all day and right now, quiet trumps sleep.
I had a really good, but very hot, run yesterday. I did 7 miles in 1:10:21. That was with walking a small part of every mile. I ran at two in the afternoon, when it was hot, humid, and sunny and was still able to finish the last mile at a 9:59 pace. I guess my body is finally adapting to the weather. I was going to try running on the treadmill in the morning, but I’d have had to get up by 6:30 to do 7 miles before the kids get up and I’m just not that motivated. Thankfully, a friend offered to come over with her kids and watch Shoo while I ran.
Today was a rest day and it was a good thing. I didn’t get up until Jones woke me at 8:30am. From then until about 7:15 pm, I had one or both kids demanding attention. Not one of my better days. That, combined with being tired, made me quite the cranky mama by the end of the day. I just spent the better part of an hour reading blogs and commenting, in hopes of snapping myself out of this mood. It helped some, but not as much as I might have liked.
Tomorrow I have to get up early and run 4 miles on the treadmill. Bleh. Unfortunately, this is a hard week as EVERY single run goes up a mile in distance.
OK, off to read some sort of fiction, to see if I can shut my mind off and go to sleep… Hopefully a “good” night’s sleep and a good run in the morning will snap me back to normal.
You are really getting good at those hot runs. Imagine how fast you’ll be when the weather cools off!
Nothing like non-stop needy ankle biters to put us mama’s in a cranky mood, yes? Hope the rest of your week is a bit more bearable.
Watcha readin’? I just finished _Moose_, a memoir about fat camp. Really liked it. Going to start _In the Drink_ next (it’s by the author who wrote _The Great Man_, which I loved).
It never fails, why are they always so bad when we have the least amount of sleep? LMAO! Yesterday all I wanted to do was sleep and just prayed for a peaceful day with the kids . . ummmm nope LOL
Nice job on the 7 miler! Hope the 4 on the treadmill went well today and you got some rest.
I am very excited about all the outdoor running! But man you are running fast for training runs! But I dont know what your MP is so I dont know what I am yappin’ ’bout!
🙂
My weekly mileage spiked by 8 miles this week!
