Dressing for function and fashion

May 3, 2016 by MCM Mama 18 Comments

Today on Tuesdays on the Run, our topic is running gear and where to get it. You all know my love for Skirt Sports and it’s pretty obvious that most of my running dollars get spent directly on their site. (Don’t forget you can get 20% off with code MCM20.)

Skirt Sports Happy Girls and Ultras

I did, however, share with you  how you can get older prints (yes, I do still have a few prints that I’m hoping to get my hands on.)

I also generally get my shoes directly through my relationship with Altra, with the occasional extra pair being bought at Road Runner Sports as they are my only local store that carries them.

So, where do I get the rest of my stuff???

Target, Kohl’s, and Old Navy. That’s right.

I’m pretty much addicted to the Target C9 half zips. I’m pretty I have every color they’ve made in the last few years.

And I’m a huge fan of the Kohl’s Tek Gear brand to fill in the items I can’t get from Skirt Sports. As far as Old Navy, I hit there for inexpensive tanks to run in during the summer.

Know what all three of those have in common? Decent quality for the price, good sales, and participation in Ebates. Yep, I’m all about the percent cash back (and often good codes) that come with Ebates. Trust me, I know how to stretch my dollars *cough* so I can buy more skirts *cough*.

Never heard of Ebates? Feel free to join through my Ebates Referral Link. I’m pretty sure we both get $$ back if you do that. I’ve been a member for years and it’s nice to get that check periodically.

Are you like me? Do you splurge on certain items and totally cheap out on others or are you more all cheap or all quality? Got a lower price but good quality brand you’d recommend?

I just love my Skirt Sports gear. I swore I would never run in a skirt, but here I am and that’s all I own anymore. They’re just so much more comfortable, you can go commando and you don’t get a wedgie. Sold? 😉

I do cheap out on many things. But you really do get what you pay for so there are certain items I won’t, like shoes.

I love Skirt Sports, of course, but I’m also obsessed with TJ MAXX and Target for tops and sports bras.

As you know, I loved wearing the Altras. I actually have a Dilema on the blog today to see how I can get back into them. Perhaps you have some advice?

I shop mainly at Target and Kohls too. I haven’t tried Old Navy but that sounds like another good option. I hate spending a ton of money on running gear!

Hadn’t heard of E-bates… but I’m signing up now! I had never thought of Old Navy, I’ll have to check them out.

I love Old Navy’s workout clothes so much! They always have great deals and I think some of my stuff from their is my favorite over much more expensive brands. But yeah, I’ll splurge on some items but I love getting a good deal!

I get Old Navy capris for when I’m working (I’m a trainer at the local YMCA and we can’t wear too wild of pants, so my InkNBurn has to be saved for other things). I also use Ebates whenever I can. That adds up!!

I splurge on occasion, but I know I can get some good gear for the holidays. I put size and color and then tell people to not deviate. Not holiday spirit, but I know what I like and I know the size that fits.

I used get stuff at Target–that’s where I bought my first running skirt. Then they changed the style. But I like Skirt Sports. Old Navy stuff is good and so cheap. I use Ebates too!

I’m so with you on the Champion stuff at Target. Great quality, cute styling and reasonable prices for the win. I’m curious how you store all those skirts? I’ve got mine hanging and it’s not the best setup. Can you tell I’ve got an organizational jag going?

I love the Old Navy compression yoga pants and wear them on the weekend all the time. Their stuff is hit or miss for me, but I adore those pants!

Favorite running shorts are these cheap black ones from Old Navy. I have a couple of the same ones!

I splurge rarely. I hate paying full price for running gear because it adds up pretty quickly!

Kicking Off 2021 with a Big Ole Cup of Coffee

I’m not one to stay up super late on NYE, but ironically, last night I was up late thanks to insomnia. Thank you 2020 for one last kick in the teeth. So, I’m up a bit later than normal and sucking down caffeine like it’s my job. Seems appropriate to hook up with Deb and […]
