Really, it was eat.all.the.things Tuesday, but the sentiment is the same. It was just one of those days when all I wanted to do was eat. The day started with an early breakfast, so lunch was eaten at about 11:15. I headed out for a run (that I really didn’t want to do, but I have some crazy days later this week) around 1:15. I came back from my 4 mile run absolutely ravenous.
What? It’s not like I ran that far. Or that I ran on an empty stomach. But I just wanted to eat and eat and eat… Did I eat more calories than I burned? Absolutely. Would I call it a binge? No. The weird part is that it felt like hunger, rather than “oh, I’m eating because I’m bored or I’m sad or I’m stressed…” I did end up drinking quite a bit of water later in the day, so perhaps I should have tried that instead of food. {{{shrugs}}}
And I can tell you, I didn’t take pictures of everything I ate. I was too busy shoving it in my face. Good thing I generally eat healthy and keep active, so no lasting damage will come from it. (And that run? By a mile in, I was happy to be out there on a beautiful day with snow in the trees and on the grass, but completely clear pavement to run on.)
What I will share with you, however, is the dinner I made last night. One of my friends recently gave me a code for a free week at Blue Apron. I had looked at their website before, but hadn’t really considered it. It seemed a little pricey for what it was. But, hey, I’ll try it for free…
I’ll do a full review once I make the three meals that came with it, but our first meal tasted good.
What the meal looked like in their pictures:

I will say that I’m not sure I’d have ever made anything like this, even if I found it on pinterest, but we did enjoy it. I liked the combination of the different flavors way more than I expected. I may try to replicate it in the future with a different fish (I’m not a huge fan of tilapia) and I’ll definitely add more vegetables – either more brussels sprouts with the grain or a separate vegetable in addition. (Beer Geek added applesauce as a side dish.)

I have a similar issue with what I prepare not really looking like what is in the picture. Go figure. Good to hear that it tasted good though.
I hate that feeling where you just can’t stuff your face enough! Looks like a tasty recipe…just might have to try it!
That tilapia recipe looks awesome – gonna have to give it a try! Don’t you hate when a recipe has to all come together at the end and your kitchen looks like a war zone? Oh, well!
I’ve been in the same “eat all the food” boat lately – trying to reign it in because I feel like it’s getting a bit out of control.
I think we all have hungry days! I feel like I am battling it constantly with this cold weather, trying to figure out if it’s hunger or just frustration! 😉
I’m actually receiving a week of meals today. I’ve never tried the company but the menu looks delicious! Will let ya know.
As long as it taste good, who cares what it looks like 🙂 That’s a winning recipe in my book!
The recipes sounds interesting. I’m vegan but I’ll bet I could use tofu instead of the fish. I love your “after cooking” shot … you keep things very neat and tidy. My kitchen, after cooking, looks like a bomb went off in there. LOL! I found you via the Anything Goes link-up party. Nice to “meet” you!
