When Beer Geek walked in the door today, I walked out LOL. The boys have been fighting a ton lately and I just needed a break. I still needed to get my 3 miles in for the day, so I made sure I was ready when he got home. I hadn’t planned speed work, but when I kept having to sprint to make traffic lights, the run became a fartlek. I needed to add a bit of distance, so I can actually take more than three days off in the month of December, so I ended up doing 4 miles in 36:45.
I’m slowly whittling away at Christmas stuff. Shoo and I drove all over northern Virginia today, buying the “paper to pearls” necklaces and earrings. It was a bit of a comedy of errors, but it’s done and I got some beautiful stuff for presents. Now I just need to sit down and make sure I have (or have ordered) everyone’s gifts, so I know what I still need to do next week. I’ve also got to figure out what Garmin Nuvi will provide Beer Geek with what he wants at the most reasonable price. Pretty soon we’ll be a three Garmin household (etrex, forerunner, and Nuvi) LOL.
Fish is still doing fine. I also found my running tights. Somehow they ended up in the cabinet where Beer Geek keeps his workout clothes by the treadmill. Soooo glad I found them. I ran the last two times in regular leggings (you know, those things we wore in the 80s under our big sweaters) and they kept sliding down. While I’m sure the construction workers I passed while I was yanking up the crotch enjoyed the show, it’s not quite an issue I want to deal with at the race on Saturday.
Oooh, and I got a new pair of running socks. They are Thorlos and I bought them for winter running. It wasn’t cold today, but I wanted to try them out and I LOVE them. I have a blood blister (ouch!) on the bottom of a toe and the padding on these socks kept my toe comfortable for the majority of the 4 miles. Hopefully I’ll also find that they are warm when I run a cold run.
Look at that! It’s not even 11 and I’m about to head to bed! Woot!
“Give a, give a, give a Garmin!” I love those commercials. Song gets stuck in my head.Nice job on the speedy 4!
You’re a busy bee! Good job on the run. Happy you found your tights!
LMAO! That’s like me. As soon as the man steps in the door . . .SEE YA!! HAHA
I haven’t heard the word “fartlek” since high school track! Thanks for the smile. :o)
Ooo a blood blister ouch! Hope your new socks help!
