After last week’s 13 mile run, I decided to take it a little easier this week and only do 10 miles on my long run and then do a 14 mile run next week before I do a small taper for the half marathon. As it turns out, my long run this week may be a single digit run.
Shoo is still not up to par. He was doing pretty good most of the day, but lost it again this evening (may have been my fault as I was pushing the liquids pretty hard). Regardless, he’s definitely not himself yet, so no preschool tomorrow. Beer Geek was supposed to take the day off and we were going to go buy a new computer and a new tv, but we don’t feel like doing that with a sick kid along. So, Beer Geek is going to work and Shoo and I will have another quiet day at home. I may be a little crazy by the end of the day, since I’ve barely been out of the house since our beer trip on Saturday. Sigh.
At this point, I have my fingers crossed that I can do a long run on Thursday while Shoo plays at a friend’s house. Otherwise, it’s going to be four mile treadmill runs every night when Beer Geek gets home from work and a long run on Saturday of about 6 miles (both because I don’t want to be away from the kids for too long Saturday morning and because I still plan to do 14 miles next Tuesday). And, of course, if any of the rest of us catch the bug, even this plan will get shot to hell.
Sorry your little guy is still sick. Enjoy your week with less mileage!
Fall back week is probably a good idea, all things considered. Hope the little guy gets well soon!
Bummer on the sick little guy. get well soon, kid.
Sorry your little man is still not feeling well. That’s nice that he’s got his Mama to be with him. I’m sure that will help him feel better soon! I hope you are able to find the time and stay healthy so you can run the miles you need.
I really hope the rest of the fam doesn’t get it. It’s an evil bug!
sorry to hear he’s still feeling sick. hope the rest of the family doesn’t get it 🙁
(((HUGS)) Cabin fever is no joke! Hopefully he gets better soon and things will return to norm 🙂 I’ll cross my fingers that the rest of you guys don’t get sick!
A little bit of an easy week probably won’t hurt anything – and hopefully will keep you immune system up so you don’t get sick too. Hope Shoo feels better soon!
I hate it when Ian gets sick. Hate it. It’s the worst. He gets all floppy and pathetic and there’s no a whole lot you can do about it.Hope Shoo recovers quickly and that no on else gets infected.Good luck with the runs, sister.Hmm .. in this context, “runs” could be ambiguous, but … you know what I mean.
Hope Shoo is feeling better today, nobody else gets the bug, and you can manage to keep up with your runs (and therefore keep from going too crazy)!
I just saw your goal of running races in all fifty states–very cool!
