Shoo’s cold has taken hold of my body and I’ve got a head full of snot. All I’ve done today is sit around and eat. Sigh.
I did get a bit of a recovery run in this morning. When we left to take Jones to school, I forgot something I needed. I ran back to the house and caught up with them on the walk – probably about a quarter of a mile total. Then Jones was walking too slow, so I challenged him to a race. We ran about 100 yards or so at full speed. He almost beat me, but we were running uphill and I was pushing Shoo in a stroller. Not a lot of running, but it felt great. I’m pretty much recovered. I would have gone running this evening, but I just didn’t have the energy to change my clothes.
And for your amusement… Beer Geek informed me tonight that he’d checked out the Marine Corps Marathon website and I’d come in at a respectable place. He then informed me that I’d beaten all the men in the 75 and older division. I’m guessing I should be proud of that at least, right? LOL
Well, I remember in one of my early races when a 70something man passed me. I dont’ think I finished ahead of all the 75 and older men that day. LOLGet well soon.
I’ve had many old people and children pass me in races. Not a good feeling, so beating most of the 70 something men and your children makes you quite a few steps ahead of me!
