Thanks so much for your support on yesterday’s post! If anyone is interested in hearing what steps I took to make the chances of PPD smaller with Shoo, let me know. I’d be happy to share.
Today let’s talk about SOCKS! Most of us wear them and they can totally make or break a run. Am I right?
Luckily, I was introduced to Features socks a while back and I’ve been loving them ever since. One of the best things about their socks? There are so many options! I think I have a pair of every kind of No Tab socks and one pair of the compression socks.
So, what do all of their socks have in common?
- Y-heel construction
- High density knitting
- Seam free toe
- Power bands of lycra to contour to your foot
All of the above combine to create a sock that is comfortable and stays in place during your run.
So, let’s talk about the options. Feetures offers 3 different thicknesses – ultra light (super thin and great for keeping your feet cool), light (which offers a little extra protection in high impact areas), and heavy cushion (which is great for when you need a heavier, warmer sock – wish I’d had a pair of those this winter.) In their regular socks, Feetures also offers High Performance which hugs your foot, Elite which is constructed to add support where it’s needed the most, and Elite Merino+ which includes wool and bamboo and is designed to keep your feet warm in wet, cool conditions. Each “style” is available in both the ultra light and light options (only the Elite Merino+ is available in the heavy cushion). So.many.options.
As I mentioned I have one pair of each kind and I like them all for different things. I think perhaps the one I like the most is the new Elite Merino+ ultra light. Features sent this one and the Elite Merino+ light this winter for me to try out. I really loved them both, but the ultra light fit better in my Altras. The key thing though was that they both kept my feet warm in the ridiculous cold and wet winter that we had. I usually have lots of problems with frozen toes in the winter and I had zero issues, thanks to these socks. My only disappointment was that they sent me the No Show Tab socks and my ankles were cold. Next winter I’m buying myself some of the quarter socks and crew socks to keep warmer!
I was also sent a pair of the Graduated Compression Knee High socks. These are awesome! They have the perfect amount of compression and just the right amount of cushion in the foot to be a perfect. I’ve run several of my long runs this winter in them and they are my new favorite. I have yet to race in them but I’m sure they will be awesome. And who can say no to bright pink (or bright yellow…) LOVE.
Here’s the thing – I have quite a few pairs (although right at the moment I seem to have one of each pair – how DOES that happen???) and I was sent a couple of new pairs before I had to withdraw from being a ZOOMA Annapolis ambassador. Features was kind enough to let me keep them, so I’m giving them away. Yes, I really am that nice. ;o) Since they are in my possession, there are only two options: an orange High Performance Light Cushion pair and a purple High Performance Ultra Light pair. Both are size medium, which is women’s size 7-9.5 in shoes.

THESE!!! I LOVE THESE and just ripped into a new pair yesterday.
Cool! I’ve never tried these– I typically have Reebok thin socks for weights and spinning, but use adidas thicker socks for running (like you say, different thicknesses for different activities!). THese look and sound great, and I really like the colors, too!
I love feetures and nike socks when I’m running.
Oh girl- I LOVE LOVE LOVE feetures! They are my absolute fave- won’t run in anything else!
I have a pair with the added arch support-don’t remember which style that is and they are great. Love the colors bc I can match them up to my skirts.
I normally wear Balegas but I always see the Feetures hanging on the wall right beside and I’ve always been curious to try them out….just never taken the plunge 🙂
I love all the colors they come in. Lately I’ve been doing all my long run in compression socks and I really feel a difference.
I’m a sock whore…what can I say? I love Feetures–I have a few pairs, and my favorite are the low compression. I also have their PF sleeves and wholly credit them for my recovery from that dreaded ailment.
Cool socks! I love comfy socks for running. I hate the ones that chafe my toes these look good and like they wouldn’t.
I LOOOOOVE Feetures! 😀

I love Feetures! Seriously the best socks I’ve ever worn!
I have those same pink/yellow compression socks. LOVE them. They’re my tightest pair, though, so they’re a bit of a struggle to get on, but once they are – like magic!
I’ve never tried out Feetures before, but I’ve heard nothing but great things about them. Experia socks are all that I currently wear.
I’ve run in many brands but usually opt for Injinji or Balega. CEP and Swiftwick are my go to for compression. I’d like to win these for my wife, although not as picky as I, she still deserves a nice pair of socks!
I just discovered Feetures and I must say, I am a new lover of them! Otherwise, I stick to Pro Compression socks.
I love my smartwool socks, but would love some non-wool running socks.
I love my CEP socks.
These look awesome 🙂 great giveaway. I’m a Swiftwick girl, but may try these also.
CEP for compression – all lengths. I love my Feetures, too! I also wear Injinji (women’s), Swiftwick and Balega. I am also testing out some Wigwams again – I used to wear those exclusively. And Smart Wool but neither is made as well as in the past. Wow – long answer!
I have some dry wool ones that I love!
I love compression socks after a long run and these look great!
I like Gold Toes sock’s durability and feel, but I love K Bell socks cool designs and colors.

I have only tried SwiftWick socks. Looking to try some others.
I like feetures socks- especially the wool ones! They’re comfy and warm on chilly runs.
I don’t really have a favorite but would like to try these.
I’m not really that up on running gear, but your post helped me to understand what I should expect from a sock.
I have been loving my SmartWool socks for spring runs. Would love to try feetures wool socks.
My favorite kind of socks are MySoxyFeet
I absolutely love Feetures socks! I have several pairs myself 🙂 I haven’t tried their compression socks, but I might have to give that a try!
I got a couple of pair of Balegas awhile back and OH-EM-GEE did I enjoy those! They have a thicker pair that has made all the difference in my long runs!
Balegas!
I have a Feetures sleeve and I love it, it helped with my plantar fasciitis and my Achilles tendonitis. I have to get myself some socks!
To be honest, I have heat to find a brand of socks that I truly love! I’m going to have to give Feetures a try…I’ve heard marvelous things about them and after reading your review…I know now I HAVE to give them a try.
I love injinji socks and have a pair of Tiux compression socks that are wicked comfy
I like Nike socks.
I like Injinji toe socks and Pro Compression marathon socks. After many years of running, I discovered just how important good socks were while training for my first full marathon this year.
I like balegas for running
I like compression socks and anything that is comfortable. These look great!
I have a pair of socks that I have been wearing since 2005 (so 10 years WOW) and I am a stickler…hard to try other pairs. I am very happy with the ones I have but those seem really effective and I like the bright colors! #wowlinkup
i love features! The wool ones in the winter are my favorite.
I Love ALL SOCKS.. Adidas, Nike, Kmart, Dollar Store.. white, black, lime green… I just like to run around without shoes and SOCKS are my savior!
i actually love Feetures socks! I’ve been wearing them for years now. My faves are the light cushion no show tab socks. Planning on buying some of the merino+ next winter because my toes were cold all the time this winter, miserable.
My favorite socks are usually whichever ones are on sale. Clearance is even better. I’m frugal.
In winter I still like a soft knee sock.
I love Smart Wool or Darn Tough socks.
I had no idea feetures made compression socks. I am always looking for cushioned compression socks. I like the colors of pro compression but they are just too thin for me.
I used to love Balega socks, but have started to enjoy Feetures after I got a free pair last year! Supportive yet thin enough!

I like Balega socks but I would love to try Feetures.
I’m a huge fan of Balega socks, though I do own several Feetures (Feetures were actually my first running socks).
I like K. Bell socks.
These look awesome! I don’t have a favorite brand but I love either really cushioning socks (because I have foot pain) or socks made from high tech materials that wick sweat and offer some compression.
I usually buy mossimo socks from target.
I am not very picky when it comes to socks. The only thing is that my socks have to be low rise or no show other than that brand and anything else don’t matter to me.
My favorite socks would be Dr. Scholls. They fit me well.
