Fit Foodie 5K Weekend

Fit Foodie 5K

Some of you may remember that I was an ambassador for the Fit Foodie 5K last year along with some of other awesome DC area bloggers.

We had an amazing time at the Friday night event.

I ran a slow “just get ‘er done” 5k. And then nibbled my way through the after party.

And I got my rear kicked at a Boot Camp that took me way outside my comfort zone, followed by an awesome brunch.

Now it’s time to do it again!

So, what is the Fit Foodie weekend?

Fit Foodie is a weekend put on by Cooking Light and Health to combine a healthy lifestyle and delicious culinary experiences. Like I said, running plus yoga plus good food. What could be better?

Like last year, the event is made up of three events:

  • Friday night is a VIP cocktail party with food from celebrity chefs. Last year the food was AMAZING! We all wanted to spirit away some of the dishes in our purses.
  • Saturday is the actual 5K. Not only do you get the chance to run off a few calories, you also get the chance to add back a few. The tastes last year far surpassed the bananas and water you usually get at the end of a race!
  • Sunday is a sweat session with Tracy Andersson, followed by a yummy brunch.

Details you need to know: All events occur at Mosaic District from June 19-21! Register here.

I wish I was in the area! We don’t have any food-themed races here… 🙁 I wish we did, I’d run it for sure!

There are benefits to living in a major metro area… (There are also negatives, but definitely some positives.)
