Monday is the Boston Marathon. Since I haven’t aged in yet, I’m joining Skirt Sports and Mirna Valerio’s little challenge.
Mirna Valerio – The Mirnavator and a fellow Skirt Sports Ambassador is running the Boston Marathon on Monday for the first time. Let’s show our support and run it with her! Here’s how it works (NOTE: you can switch days depending on your work/life schedules!):
Saturday: Run 3.1 miles while Mirna knocks out the BAA 5k to stay loose.
Sunday: Rest day – Take a moment to give someone a Random Act of Support (text, call, post, email).
Monday: Run the Boston Marathon (or whatever your goal distance may be) with Mirna by using the mileage converter. Choose 26.2 exercises & hashtag #RunWithMirna as you go!
BIG WINNER! On Tuesday, Skirt Sports will give one lucky #RunWithMirna winner Mirna’s fave outfit (affiliate link)- the Take Five Tank & Hover Capri Skirt – it’s perfect on the course & the podium!
My plan is to rest on Saturday because I’ll be volunteering for a race, which means plenty of non-running time on my feet. So, I’m planning my acts of support. Sunday is going to be leg day, so I’ll run 3.1 as my cool down. And goodness knows I’m not in marathon shape, so Monday will combine 3-5 miles of running with a tabata/HIIT workout until I hit 26.2.
What about you? Got your plan in place?
I’m joining Running on Happy and Fairytales and Fitness for the Friday Five 2.0 linkup.
What a fun idea! I don’t think I’ll be doing this tho…I have to work and that workout could pose a challenge for me. I’m so excited for Mirna and everyone else running Boston. I’ll be cheering from the sidelines!
this is a fun challenge! Need to see if I can figure out how to make my workouts fit into it. have a great weekend
What a fun idea! Sounds like a tough challenge – as it should be.
Sounds super fun! Enjoy the race!
Weather permitted, I hope to run/walk with Mirna. Maybe even go to the gym.
This sounds like a great way to do Boston without having to qualify 😉 I’m already planning a short run for tomorrow (because the weather is gonna be so icky….and the ‘mill is not gonna be an option for 10 miles. Nope. Na ha. never). I’ll try to remember to check back to refresh my memory 😉
What a fun challenge! I am excited about Monday but need to figure out how I am going to watch it. Last year I was at home but had to get some kind of subscription in order to watch it. I might have to do the same on Monday. Bummer that it isn’t free to watch for those not living in NE.
What a fun way to show support!
This is a fun challenge idea – I haven’t figured out how to make Monday work with my schedule but I’m going to try. I’m psyched for Mirna!
I know a couple people running the race, so I’ll be anxious to know how they did. I’m recording the race tomorrow since I have all day training at work.
