Remember all that running I did this past winter? I logged mile after mile in training for five half marathons in five days and my ultimate goal of 13 half marathons. In fact in the month of March, I ran 200 miles.
Guess how many miles I’ve run so far in June? Umm, I haven’t been tracking, but I’m pretty sure I haven’t broken double digits. And by that I don’t mean I haven’t run a double digit long run. No, I don’t think I’ve run 10 miles total in June. Oops.
In my defense, I haven’t been sitting on my butt. At least not completely.
I did run a ridiculously sweaty 3 miles while I was down in Florida last week.
I also did a workout with one of the IMG Academy trainers.
This past weekend, I hit up Revolve for a workout with the lovely ladies of my local MRTT chapter. (Yes, Woody did the class as well. That’s some hardcore “mascotting”.)
I’ve also done one of the Metabolic Effect workouts and a workout from FitKnitChick’s over 40 workout.
But, yeah, not much running and not nearly the amount of exercise my body is used to. And both my mental state and the fit of my shorts are telling me it’s time to get back to healthy.
So, today, I’m picking it back up with the Mizuno Baton.
What is that?
I’ve fundraised for Back on My Feet before and I think that they are an awesome cause. I’ve also written about the “ifeverybodyran” campaign in the past. Add in my need for motivation and we have a partnership just waiting to happen. So, I’m pledging to run at least 20 miles this week using the app (and do at least two weight workouts, but that does nothing for the fund raising…)
How about you? Join me? How many miles will you run for them?
Ill share!!!
love this – i’m about to start my next training cycle and so i’m back to running as well 🙂
Aren’t you supposed to be honeymooning???
It sounds like you have been very busy! I slack down in the summer then usually pick back up in August. This year we are moving so it’s twice as hard!
Let me know how your 20 miles goes this week! Have a super week!
I usually totally slack in the summer, but I have two big races this summer and then Ragnar early in the fall.
Great idea.
You should do it!
Hope to see you out on a run with our group this week! We miss you!
Unfortunately, 10am seems to be the popular time for client meetings lately.
Cute cycle pic with Woody!
He seems to love his work. ;o)
I really think that it’s good to have a little downtime after a long period of hard training. It lets you recover physically and mentally. Sounds like you’re ready to get back into it refreshed.
Yeah, but I knew that if I didn’t get moving soon, I’d be in a bad downward spiral.
I Love the Baton App and was so happy that I was able to raise over $30, it really encouraged me.
Nicely done! I don’t think I’ll make 30, but we’ll see…
