I didn’t do a lot of running while we were on vacation. Dad and I did the 5K race and two other runs, for a grand total of 11.5 miles of running. The two runs we did were really good though. The first one was a 4 mile run on the water at a 9 something pace. Nice, relaxing, beautiful weather, although at one point on the run back the wind was so strong that I was having trouble staying on the sidewalk. The second run was a bit faster 4.5 mile run during which I nearly crossed the puke threshold. My dad likes to sprint hills. Me, not so much. At one point, he decided to sprint up a bridge at an 8 minute pace. I followed him and when we got to the top, I nearly had the opportunity to feed the fish LOL. That which does not kill us, makes us stronger, right?

I love spring too! Way to get back into it. Sounds like some great runs!
Yay for speedwork paying off! Not that I would know anything about that since I’ve never actually done speedwork myself, but yay nonetheless. And nice job staying on the dry side of the puke threshold!
Any runs that get done on vacation are a bonus. :o)
Your speedwork is clearly paying off! I’m also pretty sure if I ran with my dad he would purposely try to run me into the ground just to prove a point. Have a great weekend– it’s going to be beautiful.Oh, and yes– with my quad issues, I decided not to push the distance even though I’d love to do the Pacers race. Next year…
enjoy the weather, it’s gorgeous up here too 🙂
The first one was a 4 mile run on the water … Wow.Your Dad’s first name wouldn’t happen to be Jesus, would it? Can you run on water when he’s not around? That would be the godhead test I’m looking for.I love Spring, too. Good beer on restaurants’ outdoor patios! Woo-hoo!
I am always happy to get back into a routine after being on vacation. Way to go with the runs!
Yay for vacation AND being back on track!
Hey MCM Mama, I can’t believe I hadn’t visited your blog before. I think we must live near each other. I noticed your 10 miler on the 26th and see it’s the same one I’m running! I run on that path for most of my runs. Think I’m slower than you and I’m definitely older than you are, but I enjoy reading your blogs. Enjoy tomorrow. I’m shooting for 8 miles–I run with the women’s group from Pacers on Saturdays and otherwise by myself.
RIGHT?! All of a sudden these life-sucking paces aren’t so bad anymore!LOVE IT 🙂
Finally Spring is making an appearance. It’s about time. Enjoy your weekend.
Ahhh… spring! Enjoy your beautiful running weather!!Sounds like a great vacation… sun, warmth, runs, avoiding throwing up over the side of a bridge. It doesn’t get much better than that! 🙂
You’re so fast these days!
