(AKA how to use adidas to dress to work from home)
I no longer work in the race world, where running clothes are the expected dress code. Since long before the pandemic, I’ve managed to work in running clothes (often right after a run). Thankfully, my new job is mostly from home and is casual when I go into the office. So, I’ve stepped it up a bit, but thanks to adidas, I’m still dressed all kinds of comfy.
Here are a few of the things I’m loving these days:
- Cute little tops (who knew adidas golf collection was so cute???) that don’t require ironing – adidas has a bunch of tops with collars that look perfect with a jacket thrown over them. Little do my coworkers know that I’m super comfortable and I just pulled it out of the dryer. (And if you golf, they do double duty!)
- Sneakers that look cute with jeans – I’ve been loving my Cloudfoam Pure sneakers lately. They are cute with jeans but so easy on my Flintstone feet on days that I need to be in the office.
- Fleece pants – OK, I confess that this is a work from home choice. I work in my fitness room, AKA a porch that we converted from to a room. It’s not on our heating system and the “hotel” style heater is loud on calls. Dressing to not freeze is key!
- Hoodies – see above re:freezing. I hate being cold, so you know the minute I’m off camera, I have a hoodie on.
It’s been an adventure to go back into a more traditional work situation, but I’m enjoying having my weekends back and seldom getting texts or emails in the evening. I sometimes feel like my career looks about like a Family Circus comic (iykyk), but it’s been fun to keep reinventing myself.
What’s your favorite work item? Are you still at home or are you back in the office?
