Shoo and I had our weekly exercise class today. Most weeks, he runs around the room, while I’m able to get a workout in. Today he alternated between being clingy and trying to prevent me from doing what I was supposed to do. This made my workout amazingly harder. When he was clinging, it was just an extra 35 pounds while doing step and squats. It was a little more challenging when I was trying to do situps with him pushing my shoulders back down. The most difficult part, however, was pushing up to the plank position with him lying on my back. I may not be able to lift my arms tomorrow LOL.
We’ve started looking at houses to rent in Rockland, ME for our vacation. We did that a few years ago in Ithaca, NY and it was awesome to have so much space and not have to eat out every meal. Beer Geek is already researching cool things to do and I got a comment recently that let us know of a lighthouse to visit. Have I mentioned Beer Geek loves lighthouses? Um, yeah. I think it ranks below beer, but definitely up there with weird geographical stuff and ferries. His nickname is making more and more sense, isn’t it? LOL
Four days until Florida. I’m really excited about the warmer weather and seeing my family. I’m so not excited about wearing my bathing suit and shorts. I haven’t gained much, but it’s apparently enough that nothing fits quite right. I doubt I can blame the dryer for all of my summer clothes being too small. Sigh. I’d even be ok with buying some bigger stuff, but when I’m at this weight, my proportions get messed up. I’m so bottom heavy that by the time I get stuff to fit my legs and backside, the waists are huge! Whine, whine, whine. I know, I could have bigger problems than a well-endowed backside.
Edited to add: At the rate I’m going, it’s going to take me a year to get the blog looking right. I did discover that, while I love my Mac, I don’t always love the touchpad. I’ve found sometimes it’s easier to make the changes in html, than try to drag something with the stupid pad. I did manage to wipe out my google analytics for a day. Think maybe that’s when I finally got hits from North Dakota and South Dakota (the only two states that have never given me any hits). OK, maybe I’m getting a little obsessive about the 50 states LOL.
Walking – 1.5 miles
Cross training – 1 hour

Shoo’s just trying to make sure you get a tough workout in, right? I’m so excited to sign up for MCM. I was going to stay with friends who are outside of the city, but since we’re already spending the money to fly in, I think we’ve decided to just go all the way and get a hotel too. Looking at Crystal City Embassy Suites. It might not be amazing location for the whole city, but I figure that being less than a mile from the start is the winning factor – way better than a 45 minute metro ride.
Gotta love the free added resistance. (Okay, kids aren’t really free.) I hate putting on my summer clothes for the first time every year – the combination paleness and winter pudge is sort of revolting.
We’re not very concerned about seeing the city – we’ve been there a ton of times before moving west – so anything with good race proximity is optimal. Especially since we won’t really be able to walk afterward…Thank for all of the help too!!
Awesome cross training with the added resistance! It’ll be a good sore 🙂 Florida weather would be a refreshing change!
Good job on the cross training. Enjoy your trip to Florida!
Enjoy florida – I hear you on the bathing suit issues – my fit problems are a bit different, but I wonder who they make these suits for really.
The added resistance is NO FUN when I'm trying to do yoga.Mmmmm… Florida – sounds nice & warm & sunny…
Ohhh I like this new look! You’re going to have to dish your secret on the 3 column thingy.
I think the blog is looking great. Hope you’re not TOO sore today.I think the idea of renting a house on vacation is a great one– Maine sounds like it’s going to be a lot of fun. Lighthouses galore!
Just think of how much more core work you are getting! My kids love to do the same thing to me.
Nobody actually lives in North or South Dakota. Nobody with access to the Interwebs, anyway. Why is my word verification “mistrut”? Are you callin’ me a liar?
