We had an awesome time yesterday at the Monster Jam! The boys got to meet some of the drivers and then we had a blast watching the show. I ended my low carb eating (as planned) by having a couple of beers. Then for dinner we ordered Thai food and had more beer.
Today, my run rocked! I didn’t really want to do it as I was in kind of a funk, but the temps broke 30 degrees around 2 pm, so I made myself do it. Sunday is usually my speed workout, so I warmed up and then did 4 x quarter mile with a little over a tenth of a mile as a break in between. I wanted to do 6, but my times for the four were 1:52, 1:57, 1:52, and 1:59 and I think that may have been a bit faster than I should have done. Not sure, since the only training plan I’ve even looked at lately is the one done by Lindsey for JoyRun LOL. I ended up doing a total of four miles at an average of an 8:54 pace.
So, Glaven, as much as I hate to admit it, you are right. Beer is not crap. Beer is apparently the best fuel ever. :o)
I just registered for the Capital Hospice 12K. It’s a new distance for me, so an automatic PR LOL.
great job on the run. 12K race, huh? that’s different.
awesome job using the beer! LOL 12k race definitely is different! Yay for a PR! ๐
awesome run! those are great times for a quarter mile, especially with such a short recovery period!i love new/funky race distances … yay for a guaranteed new PR ๐
Great speed work – must’ve been the beer! ๐
I have had some great runs after a couple of beers. Odd.Nice speed work!
Ooh, cool re: 12k! I haven’t registered yet (am waiting to hear if my husband wants to run it, too) but I will definitely e-mail you when I do– my First Blog Meet up! (Oh, and I’ll be sure to listen to you and Glaven and drink plenty of beer beforehand.)
Great speedwork! See, with beer being with carbs & all…
Great job on the run! A 12K is certainly a unique distance for a road race, but that should make it kinda fun!
