The weather here is gorgeous! Cool, low humidity, a slight breeze… Basically nothing like Virginia normally is in June.
My toes are recovered enough to wear running shoes and my quads, while still sore, are definitely up for an easy run.
I’ll be heading out the door shortly for a 3-5 mile run…
Oh, wait, that WAS the plan, but all those sayings about making plans came about for a reason…
Last night, Shoo got sick. And since he obviously subscribes to the “Go Big or Go Home” school of thought, well, today I have enough laundry to do to keep me busy all day. Not to mention the kid camped out on the couch with a bowl.
But I’m a mom and I’m used to rolling with it. A run WILL happen. It might be on the treadmill in socks or a short run while Jones is at cello practice this evening. It will happen. Why? Because running is my coping mechanism and today I need the help.
Do you run to stay sane? Or fit? Or just because you love it?
Go for a run today and take a picture. Then tweet or post to Instagram with #IMARUNNER.
Timex will be giving away 60 Timex Ironman watches to runners who use the hashtag. In return for each eligible submission, Timex will also donate $5, up to $15,000, toward One Fund Boston.
For a chance to win a Timex Ironman watch simply submit your unique running story on Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #IMARUNNER on June 5th by 11:59pm EST. Users can also enter by submitting a photo or story directly on the Timex Sports Facebook page “#IMARUNNER Tab” (http://bit.ly/12qH3Xb). Winners will be selected at random and official rules are located here: http://bit.ly/147ilKy.
Happy National Running Day! Hope your day is a bit less eventful than mine!
What a great post! I have been wanting to get into the running world lately. I have had a lot of stress going on in my life and I just get this urge to go run. Of course it happens when I am sitting in rush hour traffic or stuck at work for the next 8 hours lol but I would love to get in the habit of running everyday. Do you have any tips or pointers for us newbies? And in honor of today, when I get home I will get my running shoes and go run my heart out! 🙂
We run for the same reasons! Mommas have to stay sane!! =)
I hope Shoo’s feeling better soon and no one else catches what he’s had.
No one understands like us moms 🙂
I’m still planning a one mile hop on the TM myself just to get it in…
Don’t they understand its your day?! 😉
Good luck tonight!!
