Happy National Running Day!

June 2, 2010 by MCM Mama 35 Comments

Today is the second annual National Running Day.  Get out there and get your run!

Personally, I’ve misplaced my running mojo this week.  I didn’t run on Monday.  No real reason, just didn’t do it.  Yesterday Shoo didn’t have school and I had a lot going on and Jones had soccer and…  Yes, lots of excuses that all came down to just not feeling like it.  Of course, with my current stress level,  I probably needed the run.

Today looked much the same.  No school for Shoo, a trip to an office supply store for ink, paperwork to be printed, filled out, mailed, etc.  You name it, I had an excuse.  I knew our evening was going to be messed up too as this is Jones’ late day at school.  So, I made a deal with myself.  If I woke up when Beer Geek’s alarm went off (I often don’t), I’d get out of bed and run.

Guess what?

I did it.  Four sweaty miles at 6 am on the treadmill.  What a great way to start the day!

Nice! I didn't make it out this morning, and so am faced with doing my run on the dreadmill this afternoon after work. But, being National Running Day and all, I don't dare blow it off 🙂

Glad you snuck one in–we were both on the treadmill at the same time, actually. Just not the same as the road, but it's better than nothing.
