This was a low mileage week and I was ok with that. I didn’t build any recovery or fallback weeks into my plan, knowing that I’d take one when my body or life demanded. Coincidentally, my body demanded just before Christmas, so I finished out that week and took a recovery week.
I only ran 20 miles this week. That just seems so low, but it’s what worked with the time I had available to me for the four runs I chose to do. I did, however run them faster than I’ve been running: 7 miles at 9:55 average pace, 5.2 miles at 9:38, 4.3 miles at 9:33 and then an easy 3.5 yesterday to round out the week. Thankfully two of those runs were done outside with my dad which is always my favorite way to run.
I’ve continued to eat all my fruits and veggies, but between eating my weight in cookies and the reduced mileage this week, I’m feeling “soft”. Time to get back on track with the clean eating, instead of all the heavy things I added to my diet. At this point, we have one more “event” – NYE dinner. I’m sure it won’t be my healthiest dinner ever and there will probably be wine, but at least I’m heading back towards healthy eating…
One more week and I have a goal of it being my highest yet!

oh deep tissue and I are only semi-friends. I learned that sports massage doesn’t work for me and while I love a deep massage…I have a limit or it seems like i can’t workout out for DAYS after 🙂

Do you feel soft even if you haven’t put on any weight? Sometimes if I’ve been eating a lot of what’s not good for me I’ll feel kind of podgy even though the scales haven’t changed. Not sure if it’s psychosomatic or if the scales haven’t caught up with reality.
I got a massage last week too…LOVE deep tissue! Honestly a massage isn’t worth it to me unless I’m in pain (good pain!). Massages are my biggest self indulgence, I try to get onea month.
