I survived. What did I survive, you ask? Preparing for and presenting on social media at small conference this weekend. Other than some technological issues thanks to being a Mac user in a PC world, it went fine. In fact, I’d venture to say I did well, but we’ll see what the evaluations have to say. The weekend was fun, but I stayed up too late and got up too early (yes, I did go running on Saturday morning as the sun was rising. Shocking, huh?)
Sunday I hit a wall. After the two hour drive home early that morning, I was wiped out. Like, so tired that my eyes were crossing, wiped out. I swear I dozed off every time I sat down and I spent the day constantly craving sugar, as my body desperately searched for the energy to accomplish even the simplest of tasks.
Today I feel much better. Funny what a good night’s sleep with no anxiety will do for you. Now I just need to get back in control of all the other stuff in my life and I’ll be good to go again.
Foodie Pen Pal reveal!
I love this program. It’s so much fun and I’ve gotten some seriously awesome stuff each month. This month was no exception!
Look at all this cool stuff!
My Foodie Pen Pal this month was Amy from Lavender Parking. She’s from New Mexico and sent me a lot of neat stuff from her area. (She also included a card, but darned if I can find the thing. )It all looks wonderful and I’m really excited to try the soup. Soup season is my favorite time of the year and the soup she sent looks super yummy. And the tea will come in handy as I try to break my afternoon coffee habit.
My favorite, though, was the “nutty pop”. Cranberries and almonds and sugar. Why, yes, that does sound yummy. (And it was. It didn’t last much past the picture taking.) Thank you, Amy, for the awesome box of goodies! Three months of participating + three awesome boxes = I’ve already signed up for October.
A huge thank you to Lindsey at the Lean Green Bean for organizing.
-On the 5th of the month, you will receive your penpal pairing via email. It will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.
-You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail. On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal!
-The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treats! The spending limit is $15. The box must also include something written. This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination!
-You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (Don’t forget about flat rate boxes!)
-Foodie Penpals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers. If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you can choose to write a short guest post for your penpal to post on their blog about what you received. If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month.
– Foodie Penpals is open to US, Canadian residents & UK residents. Please note, Canadian Residents will be paired with other Canadians only. We’ve determined things might get too slow and backed up if we’re trying to send foods through customs across the border from US to Canada and vice versa. So, I’m going to keep two separate lists and match US w/ US and Canada w/ Canada!
***If you’re in the UK, please contact Carol Anne from This Is Rock Salt at email@example.com to get involved!
