I’ve signed up for my 3rd round of Best Body Bootcamp! It started yesterday and so far I’ve done a run and done the first strength workout. Go me!
Pre-kids, I did a weight workout 3 days per week in the gym at my office. My staff knew they could find me there pretty much every day at 11:00am. (The other two days I’d do an easy cardio – I wanted a workout but not the “red face that won’t quit” look.) Once Jones came along, I needed to run for the endorphins. It was also a quick and easy workout I could do with him in the stroller or in the basement while he napped. It’s been almost 12 years since I had a regular strength routine.
Best Body Bootcamp is awesome because I don’t have to think. I just do it. Moves are planned for me, reps are recommended, heck, she even has a video for us to watch to see how to do them correctly. In the two rounds I’ve completed so far, I have yet to have a problem doing all the exercises with the small amount of space and equipment in my basement. I also love that there is a Facebook group for support. I’ve squeezed in a number of workouts in the past just so I can participate in roll call. (Don’t worry, I still take rest days. We all know I love my rest days.)
What I have had trouble with so far is completing the program. The first session I did great until near the end when life got in the way. The second session I missed out on some middle weeks because we were on vacation. Now, I did manage to stay on track with my goals and stayed active, but I missed a fair number of strength workouts.
So, my big goal this time? Hit every.single.strength workout. My reward? Something new from Athleta or Skirt Sports.
I’m ready!
Go for it, love that you found something that works so well for you. I really like workouts I can just DO and not think about as well! Also love that you reward yourself like I do, we all love new workout clothes!
You can do it! Good luck!
New gear is always the best incentive.
Incentivization is key! Your bribe would work for me, that’s for sure. Good luck. 🙂
