Last fall was really insane around here. Between soccer, races, and birthdays, we had a lot going on. This year looks to be even worse. I planned to do less this year, but as far as I can tell the only thing I’m not doing this year that I did last year is room mom for the boys’ clases. (And let’s not make any assumptions yet, I’m not very good at the word “no”.)
Instead of subtracting, I’ve added my blogging gig, cub scouts for Jones, soccer for Shoo (Ack, how did I become a “soccer mom”?), RRCA certification classes, working on a book fair at Jones’ school, a potential coaching job, and races EVERY.WEEKEND from September 18 through October 24.
I guess it’s a good thing I’m running nearly every day. Otherwise? My head would explode.
And in news of the weird, last night Beer Geek was watching History channel while I was doing stuff on the computer. All of a sudden, I realized he was watching a show with a segment about Dean Karnazes. Needless to say, I got sucked into it. I can’t remember the last time I watched the same tv show as my husband LOL.
Life sure does get crazy at times! You seem to be doing a great job of balancing it all out….me not so much:( Good luck to you with all of your committments and have a fantastic weekend! Your race report is coming either tonight or tomorrow morning:)
That makes my head spin… I'm sure you'll get it all done, and done well, at that! If nothing else, it should give you good fodder for your blog π
You're pretty busy, and I am sure it's not going to get any less busy as your boys get older! Do you have a minivan to place the "soccer mom" sticker you will be getting?? π
I saw that show on the History Channel and now I have the proof I need that Dean is NOT just an average guy like he claims to be.I know he is being humble and all, but come on, the average guy ain't running across the country anytime soon!I certainly hope Virtual Shoo is feeling better after that Tabasco Shake! π
Whoa! Sounds like you're gonna be one busy mama! it's interesting how when you think about all the stuff you need to do or write it all down it sounds overwhelming, but then somehow it all gets done.
When my kids were little our life was crazy too. I called it "driving in circles" because that's what it felt like I was doing everyday with the drop offs, pick ups, and other commitments.btw, my run report is up. http://chasinbunnies.blogspot.com/2010/08/virtual-run-report.html
Wowzers, going to be a busy few months! You manage to do it all!
At least with all of the business you'll have plenty of topics for your DC Mmama blog, eh? π
Fall is always a busy time, especially with 2 little ones. good luck staying sane and getting through it all.
oh, so feel you w/the commitment balance. ooh! it was a doozy for me this week!and I don't know how ps blog, who have full time jobs. that's impressive, but aggree w/java joggers. it'll be good fodder for your blogand you can do it!
Wow, you have a lot going on! I hear you on a hard time saying no, I am a "people pleaser" too. I'm sure the boys love having you so active in their programs! Good luck, you'll get through it with flying colors! Dean is not human! π
soccer mama! i love it!
Wow! You are going to be one busy lady! Have a great weekend!
Yeah- same thing happened here. They showed that same episode last week when I was doing the dishes and hubby was watching History Channel. I even tweeted about it- weird to see him on that channel, huh?
You are one busy lady. And even when the kids are grown up and gone other things fill in the time. We are a busy society and I also am glad we have running to keep us sane.
~gasp~ I mean, "That sounds AWESOME". Or, at least the watching the same show sounds awesome, and running practically every day, and the racing a lot. But the over commitment and insanity, well, no, not so much. I too am about to step on the "Merry-Go-Round" that seems to start in Sept and end in June.
run away the stress, girl! you sound dang busy!
