May was… interesting. It’s a challenging month to rate as it has had some good and some not so good things.
Good things:
I ran my 75th half marathon.
I celebrated my 10th anniversary of blogging.
Beer Geek and I celebrated 23 years of marriage.
I’m in Colorado on vacation, hiking and drinking craft beer.
Not so good things:
My 75th half marathon pretty much sucked.
My ankle still hurts and does not seem to be moving towards healing, despite several visits with my chiro and two weeks of not running. This has made the hiking a challenge.
We got caught in the craziest hailstorm I’ve ever seen! We were being pelted by softball sized hail! Thankfully, we were not on the highway, having pulled off at a national park to hike, so we were a little bit protected. (And thankfully, we were waiting for rain to pass so we had not started hiking yet.)
May is wrapping up with more hiking and more beer and then I head to the Skirt Sports Ambassador retreat. I’m going to focus on the good and ignore the fact that I have an ultra Ragnar in 19 days and I can’t actually run at the moment…

Here is another plus from your half: super cute skirt! I remember getting caught in a hail storm when we were in Yellowstone. My hubby and 2 oldest sons were hiking, but luckily (for me) the youngest fell asleep and we were in the car. Congratulations on your anniversaries! Both are impressive. Hope your ankle heals enough for you to do the Ragnar.
There was a woman near the top of the trail when it started (we could see her from the parking lot.) I hope she was ok, but we didn’t see her after that. I was glad we hadn’t left the car yet.
Which park are you at? We got hail on the Front Range, but not that big. We’re in our summer pattern of storms in the afternoon, and we need the moisture.
We were at Vedauwoo in Wyoming. It was insane!
Definitely a roller coaster month, but I think June will be ok. I hope your ankle heals soon!
Thanks! We have a good June planned,so my ankle just needs to start playing nicely.
I’m sorry to hear that your ankle is still bothering you. Want to come for a swim or bike ride with me?? Your month looks as busy as mine!
I need to get my bike tuned up since it looks like my running mileage is going to be way down. We’ll chat when I get home.
May was also a roller coaster month for me. I’m looking forward to pushing the reset button and focusing on getting back on track in June. We can do this!
Congrats on the anniversary and your 75th half.
Sorry about the injury. You are tough and will be back out there in no time.
I hope your ankle cooperates for your Ragnar. Love to hike! Have been wanting to sooooooo badly lately but life has just been busy. 🙁
Enjoy it! I’ll just live vicariously through you.
Oh wow, I’m sorry the ankle is throwing a kink in your hiking and potentially the relay. Is it tendonitis??
