I got up at 6:30am as Beer Geek headed out the door to work. I ate a half a banana and drank a bit of water and then jumped on the treadmill. I had to start a bit slower than normal as I was not even a little bit warmed up, but I managed 3 miles in 27 minutes with a 1.5% incline. I think if I’d been able to run outside, I would have enjoyed it more, but there’s no way I can manage to run before Beer Geek leaves for the day.
I’m actually quite impressed with myself for waking up so early. I am a total night owl. Given a choice, my body tires around midnight and sleeps until 8:30. Unfortunately, the rest of the world doesn’t work that way, so I’ve spent much of my life tired as I have trouble going to bed early. I’m trying to reset my body clock. I’ve done it before (Beer Geek is an early to bed, early to rise sort and before kids I got tired of staying up by myself. Now I relish the quiet LOL).
Last night was a bit rough. I had a bit of insomnia because I wasn’t used to going to bed that early. Then I woke up at 12:30 to pee. Then Jones woke up at 2:30 to pee. Shoo woke up at 3 and needed resettling. Jones woke up at 4:30 to pee. Beer Geek got up for the day at 5:50 and Shoo needed resettling again at 6:15. I thought about staying in bed, but it was supposed to be 97 degrees today with crappy air quality, so I figured I’d better get the run done.
Two positives: Jones woke up while I was on the treadmill and, without bothering me, turned on the tv and camped out on the couch. Shoo (who isn’t three yet) woke up dry, which was really fortunate since I forgot to put a diaper on him last night. I guess he really is almost completely potty trained!
Even better, I’m actually tired tonight, so hopefully I’ll sleep!
