And I feel awesome! I did a quick three miles (26:30) on the treadmill when Beer Geek came home and I feel so much better now. Whew!
This has been an awesome day. Jones didn’t have school because of the election, but Shoo had preschool. I voted early because lines were projected to be super long. After we dropped Shoo off, Jones and I headed out of the county to a cool toy store, where I scored some NASCAR Darda cars for Shoo for Christmas. Then we came home and worked on a marble run that Jones got for his birthday. After a trip to a local voting place to check out the elementary school band performing, Jones and I went out to lunch. He said he wanted an adventure, so we went to a local tapas place. I made him promise to try at least one bite of each thing we ordered. He ate ribs and kebobs and CALAMARI! And liked it! And then had one of the best desserts I’ve ever had. This was the first time since Shoo was born that I’ve had this many hours alone with Jones. It was so much fun. Jones informed in that it was his “best day ever.”
And I wish I was as happy in my skin as my kid is in his. He told me several times today that “I’m so happy being me.” I can only hope he always feels that way.
And to put the cherry on my day, VA went blue for the first time in my lifetime. Woot!
Wow, I’m surprised he like calamari! I always like having one on one time with each of the kids. It’s always so nice 🙂
Congrats on getting back to the running, and so fast too! Can you believe it? VA went blue and so did FL! Awesome.
Awww, I’m melting at the “best day ever” comment. And PLEASE, if you’ve done a good enough job that your kid is “so happy being me”, I hope you’re at least 98% happy being you! That’s pretty fantastic. I’m also glowing today about our lovely state’s election results. Now, all I can add is to never have to hear about “communist northern Virginia” again and I’ll be happy [being me]. 😉
I’m glad you got to run and those were some pretty speedy miles! It’s so nice to have one-on-one time with the little ones, isn’t it. With 3, it’s so hard to find time alone with my older ones. It sounds like you guys had a really awesome day.
Congrats and well done on getting back on the run.
Nice job on the run. I am glad you are back running so soon. I can’t believe your little guy liked calamari…I can’t get mine to eat mac and cheese. Ha! Sounds like you had a nice adventure day.
