Yesterday was apparently my lucky day. Despite Milwaukee airport being closed for most of the day due to 12 inches of snow, we got to WI last night. We flew out on the ONLY direct flight from DC to MKE that made it out yesterday. Woot! It was 1 am EST by the time we made it to my parents’ house, but we are here.
And, baby, it’s cold outside! It’s supposed to be even colder tomorrow. I’ve apparently lived in the south too long and my blood is thin LOL. Between the cold, ice, and snow, I’ll be doing my remaining 16.5 miles on a treadmill (although I did discuss the option of screwing my shoes ala Marcy). Poor Beer Geek is a Virginia boy, so he’s truly hating the cold. I sensed a bit of sarcasm when he thanked me for letting him spend his Christmas in Wisconsin. The kids, on the other hand, are currently out with my mom enjoying the HUGE snow piles.
Have fun in CheeseLand! I grew up in Chicago, and spent MANY frigid vacations snowmobiling in Wisconsin. I loved it then…hate the snow now!
I can see why you’d choose the treadmill option! I may be doing the remaining 15 on the treadmill or indoor trace as well. Windchill 8 in Tennessee tomorrow—crazy! And I’m sure it’s MUCH WORSE where you are!
I'm wishing for a 'mill right now, & we're only in the low 30s. I'm SUCH a wimp.Glad you made it without the ginormous airport hassles.
Hope you stay warm! 🙂
Glada you made it ssafely. Hope the kids continue to enjoy the snow.Stay warm!
earlier today i was complaining about 37 being cold … and you think YOUR blood has gotten thin! ;)good luck with those treadmill miles, i’m not jealous.oh and lol about your kids loving the snow. i think kids are immune to feeling cold.
Hope your run goes well. Best to run on the mill if you are not used to the cold. Glad your travel went well!
Have fun in the frosty northland!
glad you made it there safely. LOL at your hubby’s sarcasm and treadmill is definitely a better option!
Sounds like travel was pretty hit or miss for everyone. Glad you made it and good luck staying warm!
Glad you made it safely! Hope you stay warm and enjoy your WI Christmas!
Not being delayed when you’re flying with kids seems about as good as a winning lottery ticket! Glad they’re enjoying the snow, at least…I’m hoping the rest of the country is taking a hit so we don’t get any this year in northern VA, haha!
