How on earth is it August? July FLEW by this year. I’d say I’m not even sure what I did, but really I spent it running, visiting colleges, and trying to keep up with my 3 jobs. Oy. I’ve drunk an unreasonable amount of coffee to make that happen. So today I’m joining Deb and Coco for a coffee date.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that my training for the 50K is going surprisingly well. (Ask me again tomorrow after my long run.) I’ve upped my overall mileage and I ran a half marathon at my goal pace last weekend and, except for an awful mile 12, it went well. I’m currently 24 days into a run streak and yesterday I ran twice. And my body seems to be holding up well.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I managed to jump onto a Minnesota Ragnar team. I was trying to put together an ultra team, but between injuries and vacation plans, we just could not make it happen. Luckily, I found a team that is running with only 10 runners, so I get to run 4 times for a total of about 24 miles. Perfect training for the 50K. Perhaps at some point I should actually look at the legs I’m running…

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that the next 3 months are going to be INSANE! Jones has to get all of his applications in by November 1, we have two more colleges to visit, ZOOMA has 4 races that I’m traveling to, my 50K mileage will peak, I’m running two Ragnars (one is a Sunset, so just a day long commitment), and somewhere in there I should probably spend time with my other child and my husband. I figure I’ll post short content constantly as stress release or the blog will go radio silent. Time will tell on that on.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that Skirt Sports is hitting things out of the park this season. I just spent the last 31 days on Instagram sharing how much I love their Happy Girl. But now I’m moving on to trying some new things. They’ve come out with a new style of skirt capri, a skirt that has a removable layer (so you can make it shorter) and some great colors and patterns. Thank goodness that the fall season debut coincides with my birthday. When Beer Geek asks why a huge box arrived from Skirt Sports, I can just say thank you for my birthday present. OK, my coffee cup is empty and I need to run and then work and then drop the kids at various place and then… I’ve enjoyed catching up with you over coffee, so tell me – what’s new in your life?
I’m glad you found a Ragnar team! I know I was one of the ones who kind of flaked out on it…sorry. I just couldn’t get the logistics to gel with everything else we have happening. I hope the relay goes well!!! I do still want in on a team someday…so, let me know if there’s ever another opportunity for the two of us to join forces 😉
Wow you do have a busy month ahead! I am really impressed how you have gotten your long runs in this summer with the crazy humidity. I am really struggling to run without walking. Is it almost fall? I am also ready to start looking at some more Ragnars soon. I like that option of different lengths for the skirt. Thanks for linking up!
You are in for a busy fall, but it’s all good things! I know I just missed a SportSkirts sale, but next time I have to remember how much I love their bras.
Thanks for taking time for coffee!
Wow, you’ve got a really packed schedule! I hope you have a great time on your Ragnar. I’d love to do another one at some point but it probably won’t be for quite a while until I get the chance. And a 50K is definitely on my bucket list!
Gosh it’s been a long time since I’ve seen a blog post from you! HELLO!
I learned about that Ragnar Sunset race this weekend from a fellow blogger at EMPOWER. I’m all interested in that! No night running=Wendy can do a relay!
That cat riding a unicorn is the best
Glad your training is going well, but holy crap you have a lot going on
I’m so glad GGU is in the new rebel fleur as I did not like it in Pocketopia
