If you give a runner $1000, she’s gonna buy…

October 8, 2018 by MCM Mama 17 Comments

an entry into her first ultra.

And if she enters into an ultra, she’s gonna need to buy a new GPS watch.

And if she buys a new GPS watch, she’s going to want a race to try it out.

And if she’s going to run a race, she’s going to need a new skirt to run in.

And if she gets a new skirt to run in, she’ll definitely need some new shoes.

And if she gets some new shoes, she’ll have to get some socks to match.

And that’s how a runner spends $1000 in a hot minute…

How would you spend $1000 on running if you had a financial windfall?

Hah! the matchy matchy reminds me of a couple of Darlene’s posts. What a fun & dangerous rabbit hole. I think we’ve all learned $1K doesn’t go as far as it used to

Oh boy, I love this post idea …. I can think of so many things to do with that money!! New shoes for running, totally new apparel … but beyond running even more things!

A new watch is defiñitely on my list. And I’d probably do a racecation (and poof! It’s already gone!), and of course something (probably a lot of things) from Skirt Sports.

I kind of want to do Rehoboth this year but I really don’t think it’s gonna happen.

Haha yeah 1,000 doesn’t go very far, does it?

That “Across the Years” race looks so appealing! I would love to do that sometime. My favorite 24-hour race is not being held this year (or ever again) and that makes me sad. The Rehoboth race has also been on my list for a long time. I’ve been looking at both the full and the half. I don’t know what I would do with $1000. Probably look at a bunch of races more than shoes or running attire. It’s fun to think about!

I’d definitely spend it on a race-cation..or two. But a new watch would be nice…hmmm.

Hahaha! You have summed it up perfectly. At this rate, a 1000 just won’t cut it. Let’s add another zero and see how far we get with that!

Definitely agree with all of your choices! If I had $1,000 I would probably plan to do a racecation to Hawaii.

This is totally hilarious, and totally true! Funny how one thing leads to another…and the $1,000 is tapped out before we can finish lacing up the (new) shoes 😉

It’s SO easy to spend money on running gear. You’re right, $1000 would be gone just like that!

LOL so true that $1,000 wouldn’t last very long! I would definitely like to buy a few pairs of shoes and sign up for some races that have been on my bucket list for a while!

I think maybe some shiny new sunglasses and a cute hat too are in order. Fun to dream

Haha, I like your thinking! I really want the new Fenix 5s plus in rose gold, but it is so pricey!
