With this winter, that is. They are calling for more snow tonight and then snow this weekend. Did I somehow move north without noticing?
I had a decent 6 miler again today at a 9:43 pace. Nothing spectacular, but I’m ok with the pace given the slippery slushy sidewalks I had to run on.
I was apparently channeling my inner beeyotch while running. Things that ran through my head:
- Hey, fat lady who insisted on blowing smoke in my face as I ran by, give up that nasty thing. Oh and hit the gym while you are at it, ‘kay?
- Lots of curses at the many, many residents and businesses who didn’t shovel their sidewalks. Yes, Gold’s Gym, I’m looking at you.
- And thanks so much Mr. UPS driver who not only couldn’t wait the few seconds while I went around a parked car, but also had to blow his horn at me. BTW, this is a residential neighborhood, slow yourself the heck down!
I have 13 miles planned for tomorrow. It will likely happen in one of three ways 1) treadmill run while the kids play too much Wii, 2)run around the indoor track 5,431 times if they actually go to school, or 3)attempt to run in the snow without killing myself for as many miles as possible before giving up and hitting the treadmill. I think God is laughing because I had the audacity to think that training for a marathon during the winter would be easier.
Why, yes, I am a bit crabby. Is it that obvious? ;o)
I am so sick of winter too! It needs to be over now.
I tend to pick a fall marathon so I can train in the summer. If I ever BQ it will be tricky training.
It's at times like this that I question the decision to train for a Spring marathon… good luck tomorrow!
Crazy how much snow the DC area is getting this year. It's unreal. But, I think everyone gets tired of winter by this time. Well, everyone except me…do I have to say why? ๐
Wow, sorry to hear that more snow is on the way. That really sucks! Thanks for sharing ur inner beeyotchiness. If it makes u feel any better I sometimes walk around Boston with my middle fingers up inside my mittens, no one can see, of course, but it makes me feel better ๐
Glad you got your run in today. I'm hoping I get my run in tonite with Pacers. Oh and speaking of Pacers I can't wait to meet you next weeks at the Kickoff Event ๐
Of course that f'in groundhog saw his shadow. Damn winter!!
I am done with the snow too! But at least you got out there. I have been trapped on my treadmill. No school = all three kids at home = no outdoor runs.
I'm looking forward to spring too!! Yikes, hope tomorrow's run is better than today's!
I am ready for Spring as well. But I know damn well that we are no where near spring yet… up here in NoDak. We are already talking "chances of flooding" … yay.
We all need a bitchy run from time to time. And I'm with you on the cold weather! Here in CO, we typically get some kind of reprieve with a day or two warm up into the 60's, but for the past month or so, JUST COLD!
Sounds like everyone around you is not doing too good with the snow either. It is February, though. Spring is sooner now than it was a few months ago. Hang in there!
If I know you, you'll find a way to get in the moles tomorrow come hell or icy sidewalks. This makes me think about how horrible it'll be to marathon train during the summer here.. ugh. Be sure to laugh at me then ๐
I think the crabbiness bug is going around. I got it myself yesterday.I like your idea…blame it on winter. Did that groundhog see it's shadow today? Because I'm ready for spring.
Good luck with your 13 miler, I would pick running through the snow. It still beats the treadmill or track!
I feel your pain about winter! I hate it and I am sick to death of slipping and sliding. Nice job on the run.
I feel your pain! And, crabbiness! I secretly give people the middle finger and giggle on the inside!
I feel the same way. And actually thought the same about winter training. Boy, was I wrong. I'm just glad the snow we have right now is unusual. I don't like it and am looking so forward to running outside again tomorrow.
The only time I like winter is when there is snow on the ground….well except for when I need to run 20 miles….arg…and seriously why do people in cars feel the need to honk at others outside???? If someone is walking or running outside and it's cold – I always let them go first. Seriously I'm warm in my car and they are not…..
