For the first time in a long time, I ran 5 times this past week and actually broke 20 miles for the week. Even more importantly, I ran all of the miles with no pain!
I can’t remember the last time I actually summarized a training week, but here you go.
Tues: After 4 days of no running, I headed out and my run felt good. I wanted to do 3 miles and ended up doing 5 miles at an easy pace.
Weds: 3 easy miles. Nothing exciting about it.
Thurs: 4.5 easy miles. Again, just a nice solid run that felt good.
Fri: 7 miles with 5 at “tempo”. My parents are visiting, so I knew this was going to be a hard run. My dad’s comfortable pace is at least a full minute per mile faster than mine. We did the first 5 at slightly below a 10 minute pace, which was definitely tempo for me, especially given the number of hills. The last two miles were slower, but I was pretty happy because this was my longest run since April!
Sat: Rest day. And boy did my legs need it!
Sun: 3.1 fast miles: 9:47, 9:14, 8:54. I was pushing pretty hard that last mile.
So, 5 runs, 22+ miles. Now I just need to get to 5 runs, 65 miles.
Should be easy, right?
you had me SMILING at your running sans-pain!!!
I see more running in your future 🙂 Great news that you are running painfree!!!
Always great to be able to get back to running! I hope this week is another pain-free week of running for you!
Great job! You have plenty of time to build up to where you need to be, and I’m sure you can do it!
Congrats!!!! I know that feeling and I’m happy you’re back to running pain-free!
