But I’m drinking it anyways. I don’t mind iced coffee, but I much prefer the hot stuff. I definitely need a coffee date though, so I’m combining the monthly coffee date with Deb and Coco and weekly run down this week.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that my hip suddenly decided it was done with all this running. My hips are often cranky, but the severity of this issue came on out of the blue. One day I was running and my hip was having its usually need for post run rolling. The next day I couldn’t run with a normal gait. Oh well, I had already decided that I was going to end my run streak soon as a birthday present to myself, so I just ended it a bit early. Two days and a lot of stretching, exercises, and rolling later and I can run normally again, but I’m still doing mostly walking.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I decided that for my 50th birthday, I’d do 50 things for myself. Turns out I’m a low maintenance person and so far can’t come up with 50 things LOL. I have 8 on the list. I can’t decide if I feel pathetic that I can’t come up with 50 or if I should be happy that I generally have what I need.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I have now signed up for the Circumpolar Race Around the World. It’s a team event and we decided to do a multisport team. I’m actually looking forward to having an incentive to not just run. I’m liking my evening walk, but the rest of the mileage is starting to wear on me. Time to figure out how to calculate mileage on the bike we put on the trainer…

For the weekly run down, I did manage to get in my 3 strength workouts this week. I’ve been doing the Faster Way to Fat Loss workouts for about two years now. I love that they change things up and that the videos make it so I don’t have to think. I don’t really count macros right now, but I am sure someday I’ll care about that again. For now, the strength workouts and all the walking are enough to keep me stable.

Finally, I’ve been super busy with work lately. We recently had to switch two of our races to virtual, which required a surprising amount of behind the scenes work. But as part of the fun, we’ve created a challenge – the Cape to Coast. Run our Cape Cod challenge AND our Seaside Challenge and get extra swag and some of the prettiest medals in the business!

Hope you are all doing well. I’m trying not to wish away my last few days with my kid living here, but I’m also so over this summer. I feel like I’ve been basically stuck in this house since March. And I’m so tired of coming up with dinner every.single.night. (Feel free to post dinner ideas in the comments, sigh.)
oh I <3 that Beach Hair Don't Care tank.
So looking forward to the Cape next year as I loved the Zooma experience in Bermuda, and Cape Cod is a happy place. Crazy how much has changed since we were on that gorgeous island.
Glad your hip is on the mend without too much more drama
I also prefer the hot coffee even in the summertime. I have also had some hip issues and mine flared up again recently. I have to keep up w all of my PT exercises religiously or it comes back. 50 is super fun! LOL The Cape Cod Zooma race is on my list for in person races one of these years. I still have fond memories of our Ragnar-one of my faves
